Chapter 75: How Should I Explain This?
On this sweltering summer day, as sunlight bathed his body, Xie Xun felt a chill seep into his bones. What a sinister and ruthless man Cheng Kun was, to devise such a poisonous scheme. It seemed, then, that the previous incidents had all been orchestrated by Cheng Kun, who deliberately leaked his whereabouts. Guided by Yun Zhonghe’s hints, Xie Xun finally understood the key points that had eluded him before.
“If my guess is correct, it was also Cheng Kun who sent word to you, claiming you could discover his whereabouts by obtaining the Dragon-Slaying Saber,” Yun Zhonghe said, his voice steady though it was phrased as a question.
Xie Xun opened his mouth, then sighed deeply and nodded with conviction.
“In that case, Cheng Kun is a villain of the highest order; he must be eliminated quickly, or chaos will surely descend upon the martial world,” Yun Zhonghe declared.
He turned to find Ye Kai had appeared silently beside him. Ye Kai spoke up, “Brother Ye is quite right,” Yun Zhonghe replied, not truly concerned whether the martial world fell into disorder or not, but since Ye Kai had spoken, he felt obliged to agree.
Xie Xun was overjoyed. “Thank you, Young Master Yun! May you aid me in avenging this deep-seated hatred!”
He moved to kneel in gratitude, but Yun Zhonghe raised a hand to stop him. “Cheng Kun wishes to unleash bloodshed upon the martial world. As one of its members, it is my duty to oppose him.”
Xie Xun relented, and his gaze toward Yun Zhonghe changed, realizing that the rumors circulating in the martial world were not necessarily true. With Yun Zhonghe’s help, he would surely be able to kill the treacherous Cheng Kun and avenge his family.
“This is not the place to talk. Let’s find somewhere else!” Yun Zhonghe said, his eyes darting about until they settled upon Yin Susu, who lay unconscious atop a tree.
He leapt up to her side, preparing to channel his inner energy to revive her. But just as his hand was about to touch Yin Susu, a flash of cold light suddenly struck, aiming fiercely at his head.
The sudden attack forced Yun Zhonghe to withdraw his hand, his foot stamping the ground as he propelled himself backward with tremendous force.
Once he steadied himself, Yun Zhonghe looked up to see a man standing before Yin Susu, sword in hand, gazing at him coldly.
“How despicable—to take advantage of a young lady while she is unconscious!” the man spat.
The coldness in Yun Zhonghe’s eyes faded as he looked at the newcomer and smiled. “Hero Zhang, you are mistaken!”
“I saw it with my own eyes; how could it be false?” the man retorted.

Zhang Cuishan’s voice rang out sharply, his sword pointed directly at Yun Zhonghe, its icy aura sending chills through the air.
Seeing that explanations were futile, Yun Zhonghe decided not to waste words and dropped from the treetop.
Zhang Cuishan, observing Yun Zhonghe’s retreat, eased his hostility and sheathed his sword. He turned to Yin Susu, and when his gaze fell upon her face, a glimmer of admiration flashed in his eyes.
He approached swiftly, transmitting his inner energy to Yin Susu.
Soon, she stirred awake. Opening her eyes, she found herself staring into an exceptionally handsome face, with sword-like brows and starry eyes that mesmerized her.
“Miss, are you alright?” Zhang Cuishan asked, unable to resist Yin Susu’s alluring gaze.
Realizing what had happened, a blush spread across Yin Susu’s cheeks. She dared not meet Zhang Cuishan’s eyes, replying softly, “Thank you, sir, for saving my life.”
Zhang Cuishan scratched his head awkwardly. “Since you are well, I shall take my leave.”
Yin Susu seemed to want to say more, but Zhang Cuishan had already vaulted down from the tree, landing before Yun Zhonghe.
“Hero Zhang, what brings you here?” Yun Zhonghe’s expression soured as he looked at Zhang Cuishan, unable to ignore the flirtation he had just witnessed.
Zhang Cuishan did not answer. His gaze shifted to the Dragon-Slaying Saber in Yun Zhonghe’s hand, and a cold glint began to gather in his eyes.
“Where did you get the Dragon-Slaying Saber?” he demanded.
Yun Zhonghe followed Zhang Cuishan’s gaze to the saber in his hand, his expression changing as he hurried to explain, “Yu Daiyan was injured by the Shaolin’s Vajra Finger. The Dragon-Slaying Saber was taken by the Heavenly Eagle Sect. It had nothing to do with me!”
Only now did he realize the saber was a hot potato.
If he were to offend Zhang Sanfeng by accident, he might well be struck dead with a single palm!
Over a hundred years of cultivation was no joke.
Yun Zhonghe’s mind raced, while Zhang Cuishan, hearing his words, laughed angrily. “You know so much about my Third Brother’s injuries, yet claim you had nothing to do with it?”
“Enough talk. Today, I shall avenge Third Brother. Prepare yourself!”
With a metallic hiss, he drew his three-foot-long sword, its cold light gleaming.
He stepped forward, performing Wudang’s famed Cloud Ladder lightness skill.
His sword thrust repeatedly, weaving an invisible net around Yun Zhonghe.
Zhang Cuishan’s attack was lethal from the start, giving Yun Zhonghe no chance to explain.
The sword’s speed was so extreme that Yun Zhonghe could only make out a blurred shadow.

“Hmph!” Yun Zhonghe was roused to anger.
He might fear Zhang Cuishan’s master, but not Zhang Cuishan himself!
Since Zhang Cuishan insisted on fighting, Yun Zhonghe would teach him a lesson on behalf of his master.
With this thought, Yun Zhonghe gathered his inner energy, wielded the Dragon-Slaying Saber, and charged forward.
The clash of sword and saber rang out, the sound of metal echoing without pause.
The Dragon-Slaying Saber was a legendary weapon, far sharper than any ordinary blade.
After only a few exchanges, a crack resounded—Zhang Cuishan’s sword snapped in two, and the saber pressed against his neck.
The saber’s fierce edge made Zhang Cuishan’s hair stand on end; he dared not move a muscle.
“If I am bested today, do as you wish—kill or spare me as you see fit!” Zhang Cuishan said defiantly.
Yun Zhonghe held the saber to Zhang Cuishan’s head, neither advancing nor retreating.
He looked at Zhang Cuishan’s stubborn posture and spoke helplessly, “Hero Zhang, please calm yourself and listen.”
“When Yu Daiyan was injured, both you and I were at the martial gathering. How could I have been the culprit?” Yun Zhonghe argued desperately.
“There were many martial artists present who can testify!”
Having calmed down, Zhang Cuishan recalled this as well, but the saber was in Yun Zhonghe’s possession, linking him to Third Brother’s attack.
Moreover...
He sneered and countered, “You claim you had nothing to do with the matter, yet you know so much about Third Brother’s injuries—how is that possible?”
Yun Zhonghe’s face paled, cursing himself inwardly for forgetting this crucial point.
He couldn’t very well admit he had read the original story and thus knew the details.
He chastised himself for being too eager to clear his name, speaking carelessly.
Now, how could he explain?
