Chapter 107: Revenge at All Costs
Zhuoguang Mountain.
Deep within the Ice Demon Palace.
Inside a vast ice cavern, thick blue ice coated every surface, faintly shimmering with crystalline light, exuding an overwhelming chill.
At the heart of the cavern stood an enormous ice crystal, roughly ten feet in length and width.
Within the crystal, countless pale, ethereal runes flickered and shifted like drifting snowflakes, emanating profound and mysterious energies.
Before the ice crystal appeared three figures: one man and two women.
Leading them was an elegant and graceful woman. She wore a stepping hairpin and jade earrings, her figure voluptuous and enchanting, draped in a robe of iridescent feathers. On her forehead bloomed an ice-blue snowflake mark, radiating a faint spiritual glow.
This graceful woman was none other than Ye Bing, the Ice Demon Palace’s sovereign!
Behind her stood Pang Yue and Ye Xue.
Ye Bing gazed at them and said, “This piece of millennia-old ice marrow was obtained by me years ago from the Fallen Immortal Island.”
“You two shall follow the method I impart: by combining your cultivation, harnessing the Ice Soul Divine Light, there is a ninety percent chance you will successfully refine this ancient divine art into your innate divine skill.”
“Through this, Ye Xue can attempt to break through to the Golden Core stage... As for Pang Yue, it will greatly shorten the time required to perfect your Dao Foundation.”
“When Ye Xue attains the Golden Core, she will assist you through dual cultivation. Coupled with the supreme Heavenly Demon artifact prepared by the True Demon Hall, reaching Golden Core will pose no challenge for you.”
In just a few words, Ye Bing had clearly laid out the future cultivation path for Pang Yue and Ye Xue.
A faint blush tinged Ye Xue’s exquisitely beautiful face, and she nodded in acknowledgment, saying, “I owe much to Master’s guidance.”
Ye Bing smiled softly, “This is your fate. Had I possessed such an opportunity at the Dao Foundation stage, I might have already attained the Primordial Spirit realm by now.”
Her calm tone carried a hint of regret.
Using the Ice Soul Divine Light to forge the Dao Foundation and then refine the Golden Core would make Ye Xue’s future achievements immeasurable.
Behind this lay nearly a century of Ye Bing’s wisdom and spiritual planning as the Ice Demon Palace’s sovereign.
Pang Yue was merely an unexpected yet delightful surprise in her grand design.
Originally, she intended for another partner to combine with Ye Xue in cultivating the Ice Soul Divine Light, but Pang Yue's arrival completed the final piece of her plan.
“Remain here and cultivate with peace of mind. I shall personally protect you,” Ye Bing said, then her form dissipated, leaving the ice cavern.
Pang Yue and Ye Xue exchanged glances, an inexplicable feeling quietly blossoming between them.
Pang Yue spoke slowly, “The Palace Lord, with supreme wisdom, divided the Ice Soul Divine Light into two paths of yin and yang. You and I each cultivate one path, greatly shortening the time needed to master this technique. Then, by merging yin and yang, we can forge this divine art into the foundation of the Golden Core, ultimately transforming it into our innate divine skill.”
“Junior sister, time is of the essence. We must begin cultivating without delay!”
Ye Xue nodded and said, “I still have a few doubts. Please, senior brother, help clarify them.”
The two sat before the millennia-old ice marrow, beginning a tranquil journey of cultivation.
...
Outside the Chongxuan Sect, the sea and sky merged in one seamless color.
A swift auspicious cloud streaked across the horizon.
From afar, more than ten people sat atop the cloud—members of the Luo family here to witness the ceremony.
Luo Zhiyiao, the Luo family’s Golden Core elder, sat at the front, with Pang Yue, Luo Qingyuan, and others behind him.
The group was preparing to return to the Demon Symbol Sect.
Luo Qingyuan frowned, saying, “The teleportation array suddenly malfunctioned. The Chongxuan Sect likely harbors ulterior motives.”
Originally, they intended to use the Chongxuan Sect’s teleportation array to return directly to the Demon Symbol Sect.
But yesterday, the Chongxuan Sect informed all ceremonial guests that the main teleportation array was under repair due to a malfunction. They suggested guests use another array three thousand miles away.
Pang Yue smiled, “This matter is neither trivial nor insignificant. Perhaps it’s aimed at me.”
Luo Zhiyiao heard this and turned his head, saying, “If anything happens, Pang Yue, protect Qingyuan and retreat first.”
Pang Yue laughed, “Even a Golden Core expert might not stop me. Elder, no need to worry.”
Luo Zhiyiao harbored doubt, secretly pondering whether this youth was reckless enough to bring out a fourth-rank artifact—the Yuan Yang Axe.
If that were the case...
His thoughts shifted sharply, and he suddenly furrowed his brow, flicking his fingers as a spark of fire shot into the sea ahead!
Boom!
A hundred-mile stretch of sea boiled violently, waves churning and steam rising.
“Who hides in the shadows, skulking and sneaking about?” Luo Zhiyiao shouted coldly, releasing a beam of spiritual light to shield the Luo family’s disciples.
A sinister voice echoed from beneath the waves: “Old ghost Luo, why rush to leave? Stay and share a drink with me!”
As the voice faded, the tide surged like a mountain, and a finger rose from the sea, pressing down on the auspicious cloud.
Luo Zhiyiao snorted coldly and struck out with a fist. The air exploded with sound as the void seemed to collapse. A colossal fist shadow slammed fiercely against the finger.
Boom!
The clash of two Golden Core masters instantly drained the surrounding natural energy, which was wholly absorbed.
Suddenly,
A black shadow descended from the sky, blotting out the sun and attempting to trap the Luo family.
Luo Zhiyiao’s face darkened with fury as he formed hand seals, his body erupting in flames. A hundred-foot-long fiery dragon roared out to confront the shadow.
With a sweep of his sleeve, an invisible force pushed Pang Yue and the others away from the shadow’s aura.
“Go on ahead!” Luo Zhiyiao ordered sternly.
The next moment, a giant wave rose from the sea, engulfing him and dragging him beneath the waves.
Pang Yue and the others watched from afar as the fiery dragon and the black veil battled relentlessly before plunging into the sea and vanishing.
“Two Golden Core experts have struck...”
Luo Qingyuan’s face grew grave as she commanded the other Luo disciples, “Hurry to the teleportation island. Delays will invite disaster!”
Pang Yue hesitated, wondering whether to summon the Boundless Light Buddha to aid Luo Zhiyiao in battle.
Suddenly, the sound of jade pendants chiming came from the horizon, and another auspicious cloud approached leisurely.
Atop the cloud sat a stunning woman carrying a flower basket, her lips curved in a faint smile.
Beside her stood a noble young man in a raven-black robe, calmly watching Pang Yue.
It was none other than Le Feihuang!
Pang Yue’s gaze fixed on the woman, his expression tightening in surprise. “Le friend truly spares no expense. To deal with one of my Demon Symbol avatars, he’s brought three Golden Core experts.”
Le Feihuang replied indifferently, “I am always one to repay grievances in kind. You insulted me that day; today I shall return the favor a hundredfold.”
Pang Yue smiled, “I fear you won’t succeed.”
With a flick of his long sleeve, golden light flooded the sky, and a three-meter-tall golden Buddha manifested in midair!
At the same time, a demonic vine flashed behind him, instantly coiling into a ball that wrapped Luo Qingyuan and the others, rolling into the void and vanishing.
The beautiful woman blinked in surprise, looking at the golden Buddha and softly saying, “It’s a Golden Core puppet. Young Master Le, you must pay extra.”
Le Feihuang was also taken aback, grinding his teeth, “Destroy his avatar, and this Golden Core puppet is yours.”
The woman smiled gently, “I’d rather have the Purple Radiance Sword. When the time comes, Young Master Le can compensate me with additional spirit stones.”
