Chapter 19: There Is Still Much You Don’t Know!
"Alright!" Lin Feng nodded, watching Xia Qingqing as she left.
He stood up and paused the song, the jarring music cutting off abruptly, leaving the room so quiet that only the sound system next door could be heard.
And Li Hao’s heavy snoring.
Lin Feng smiled helplessly. Bored out of his mind, he pulled out his phone and scrolled through short videos.
Time slipped by quickly; it was already close to eleven-thirty.
Xia Qingqing had been gone for half an hour and still hadn’t returned.
Given how crowded this KTV was, especially at night when everyone had been drinking, even with surveillance in the corridors, it really wasn’t safe for a young woman to go off alone.
He thought for a moment, glanced at the sleeping Li Hao, and decided to go check on her.
It was late, and the people coming and going were all drunken men.
As he walked through the corridor and reached the restroom entrance, about to ask a waitress to check inside for him, a male voice sounded behind him.
“So, you’re Lin Feng, right?”
Lin Feng frowned and turned to see a young man with bleached hair chewing betel nut, looking at him with an air of arrogance.
He had always disliked people like this and had no interest in figuring out how this guy knew him. He was about to walk away.
But the blonde youth slung an arm over his shoulder, leaned in, and threatened with a grin, “That girl from your room is in ours. If you know what’s good for you, come with me.”
Lin Feng couldn’t think of anyone who’d want to trouble him—he’d already left the Xu family and had no friends who’d put him in someone’s crosshairs.
Though Xia Qingqing had nothing to do with him, she was still a colleague. She called him Lin Bro day in and day out—this was probably aimed at him.
Chu Lingshuang probably wouldn’t stoop to such methods.
Pressing his lips together, he slipped his hand into his pocket and, relying on memory, pressed the record button.
“Lead the way,” he said coldly, eyes downcast.
The blonde youth chuckled. “Smart choice!”
Turning the corner on the third floor, the blonde pushed open the door to private room 312.
Lin Feng felt a shove in his back, stumbling slightly as he was forced inside.
The moment he entered, he saw Xia Qingqing lying on the sofa, with two men seated nearby. One of them he recognized.
It was Fang Ziyue’s younger brother, Fang Minghao.
The moment he saw Lin Feng, Fang Minghao grinned, picked up a bottle of beer, and called out, “Long time no see, former brother-in-law!”
They were certainly old “acquaintances.”
Lin Feng knew Fang Minghao’s type—he’d dropped out of high school and started running with gangs. When he was younger, he’d caused endless trouble but only ever got a slap on the wrist. After coming of age, he became even more brazen, being the only son in the Fang family—spoiled rotten. Even Lin Feng had given him money in the past at Fang Ziyue’s request.
After dealing with Chu Lingshuang’s madness, a punk like this was child’s play to Lin Feng.
Half his wariness faded, and he glanced contemptuously at Fang Minghao before casually sitting down on the sofa.
“What do you want?” Lin Feng asked flatly.
“Nothing!” Fang Minghao grinned, sliding the beer toward Lin Feng. “Haven’t hung out in a while, so I wanted to invite you for a drink—”
He added, “Don’t worry about your little girlfriend—she just passed out, nothing serious. Let’s drink!”
If this were a real invitation, they wouldn’t have knocked Xia Qingqing out to threaten him, nor sent someone to fetch him. Lin Feng saw through Fang Minghao’s schemes immediately.
He had no time to waste on people like this.
“I suppose Fang Ziyue didn’t tell you we broke up?” Lin Feng asked directly.
“She did! But you dated my sister, so that makes you half a brother-in-law. What’s wrong with having a drink?” Fang Minghao replied.
Lin Feng couldn’t be bothered with him. He lifted Xia Qingqing’s arm, draping it over his shoulder, and said, “I don’t have time right now.”
He made to leave, dragging Xia Qingqing with him.
But in the next instant—
A loud bang sounded behind him, and the two blonde punks blocked the exit.
Fang Minghao brandished a small knife, grinning menacingly. “Lin Feng, I’ve invited you nicely. Don’t make me force you!”
Such threats meant nothing to Lin Feng—just noise without substance.
He turned his head coolly, mocking, “What, are you going to try something?”
Seeing Lin Feng’s disdain, Fang Minghao lost his temper and roared, “Second, Third, get him! Beat him to death!”
At his words, Lin Feng released Xia Qingqing’s arm, rolled his wrists, and as the two blondes charged, he threw one over his shoulder, slamming him to the floor.
Then, with a powerful kick, he struck the man’s side.
He’d used his full strength—he’d been holding back for days!
Years of working out had taught him more than enough self-defense. When he’d been in Chu Lingshuang’s house, his hands were always tied, never a chance to fight back. Not to mention, Chu Lingshuang had a gun, and even if he tried, she could call the police and he’d be finished.
Now, with his phone recording in his pocket, even if he hurt someone, it was self-defense at most.
Finally, a chance to let loose!
The two blondes were left sprawled on the floor, unable to get up.
Fang Minghao, who’d been boasting just moments before, was stunned, panic flashing across his face. “Aren’t you an office guy? Since when do you know how to fight?!”
Lin Feng ignored him, walked over, and slapped Fang Minghao hard across the face.
The crack rang out, and Fang Minghao saw stars.
“There’s plenty you don’t know about me,” Lin Feng said coldly, rubbing his palm and preparing to carry Xia Qingqing out.
“Damn it, you dare hit me? Even my dad never dared!” Fang Minghao’s mouth bled, rage boiling over as he lunged at Lin Feng.
Lin Feng dodged, slammed his elbow into Fang Minghao’s back, and with one blow, knocked him to the floor.
This kind of trash wanted to mess with him?
Lin Feng stepped hard on his back, voice icy. “Don’t ever cross me again, or I’ll beat you every time I see you.”
Those few moves and Lin Feng’s chilling threat were enough to scare Fang Minghao out of his wits.
He pleaded, “Big Brother Lin, I was wrong, I was wrong! I won’t dare again…”
Lin Feng hadn’t expected him to surrender so quickly. For scum like this, a lesson was enough.
He stepped back, slung Xia Qingqing's arm over his shoulder, and lifted her up.
Seeing Lin Feng about to leave, Fang Minghao panicked, grabbing at Lin Feng’s pant leg. “Please, Big Bro, don’t go yet. Give me some face—just sit a while before you leave, okay?”
