Chapter 15: Heading to the Changing Room
Her taste was indeed remarkable.
After changing into the security guard uniform, a hint of forbidden allure was added to him; his tall and perfect figure was wrapped in the formal attire. His restraint only made him more intriguing.
Chu Lingshuang’s smile deepened at the corners of her lips, and in her phoenix eyes, there was a trace of suppressed emotion.
Lin Feng felt unsettled under her gaze. He pressed his lips together and chose to get straight to the point, “Miss Chu, is there something you need from me?”
His tone was not pleasant, even hiding a simmering resentment.
Chu Lingshuang curved her lips and lifted her hand slightly, beckoning with her slender forefinger, “Come here.”
Lin Feng tightened his grip on his electric baton, refusing to move.
“If you need anything, just say it. I still have patrol duties.”
He hoped she would understand that this was work hours, and the meeting room was just nearby. At this moment, the employees and board directors were all waiting in the conference room for her to start the meeting. As the boss, she couldn’t simply loaf around in the lounge, could she?
Chu Lingshuang, who was rarely refused, felt a twinge of annoyance but still spoke to him patiently, “I remember the company rules. The patrol team is supposed to go in pairs, isn’t it?”
Lin Feng frowned slightly. She hadn’t even left the room, nor had Yu Xueyan returned to report—so she knew all along? That seemed unlikely; Li Hao had said an application was needed, and the security assignments were arranged on the day. His gaze fell on the computer screen on the desk before Chu Lingshuang.
She must have seen it on the surveillance cameras.
Given Chu Lingshuang’s personality, if she wanted to make things difficult, Li Hao might not even keep his job.
Considering Li Hao had looked out for him these past few days and was his first friend here, Lin Feng didn’t want to see that happen.
So, he clenched his teeth and asked, “What do you really want?”
“Nothing much, just want you to come over,” she said, lowering her legs and crossing her right over her left.
She glanced at Lin Feng and added playfully, “What, are you afraid I’ll eat you alive?”
Lin Feng instinctively tightened his grip on the tool in his hand and moved forward in silence.
Chu Lingshuang raised her brow slightly, admiring him from this close distance, even catching the scent in the air as he approached.
Perhaps the office’s heating was too high, but in this early spring, she could already smell the crisp freshness of the young man.
“Still too far,” she murmured, her eyes flashing with slight displeasure.
He was already right in front of her.
Lin Feng was about to retort, but when he looked up, he saw her lazily reclining in her chair, her cold and exquisite gaze fixed intently on him...
He sucked in a breath silently, hurriedly lowering his head again.
He circled around the desk and stood by her side...
The closer he got, the more his scent enveloped the space.
A hint of bloodthirstiness flashed across Chu Lingshuang’s eyes.
“Hmm.” She stretched languidly and said offhandedly, “Carry me next door.”
Lin Feng felt the last thread in his mind snap!
“Do you not have legs of your own—” He hadn’t finished speaking when he felt himself being outmaneuvered.
Her tone shifted, gaze landing on the monitor, “There’s surveillance everywhere here. Do you think you can escape?”
“I suppose...” Chu Lingshuang turned her head, teasing, “You wouldn’t want me to call the police, would you, big security guard?”
After a long silence, he spoke, “You want to go to the conference room, right?”
He meant he could escort her to the door, but there was no need to go inside.
But Chu Lingshuang laughed, “My shoes are uncomfortable. Just carry me to the dressing room.”
Phew...
Lin Feng finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He placed his inspection tools on the desk and effortlessly lifted her in his arms.
He dared not relax, afraid that if he dropped her, who knew what would happen with this heiress...
It was pure torture!
Her delicate hands were anything but obedient...
Lin Feng felt unbearably stifled, his lips cracked and dry. He mumbled, “Miss Chu, like this, I can’t walk properly...”
He spoke honestly, hoping to warn her a bit...
