“Ladies, I advise you to stay away from Qin Xuan,” Zou Qingshu said, pushing his glasses up his nose in a refined manner.

“Oh? Why is that?” Liu Qianqian asked curiously.

Dongfang Qingwan, however, frowned slightly—clearly, she disliked the implied threat.

“Because that guy is about to get into big trouble. I’m afraid you’ll be dragged down with him if you stick around,” Zou Qingshu replied with a confident smile.

“Let’s go. Ignore him,” Qin Xuan said, turning away.

The two women followed him without hesitation, leaving Zou Qingshu standing there with an ugly expression; he hadn’t expected to be so blatantly disregarded, which bruised his ego.

Little did he know, threats like that had no effect on Qin Xuan. What trouble could possibly arise at school? Qin Xuan wasn’t being arrogant—Zou Qingshu was just another student, no matter his family background, he couldn’t compare to Li Shihao and the Li family.

If Qin Xuan wasn’t afraid of Li Shihao, why should he fear Zou Qingshu?

“Rest here for today. Make sure you don’t wander more than two hundred meters from me,” Qin Xuan instructed Dongfang Qingwan, seating her on the bleachers outside the gymnasium.

“This is school. Nothing will happen,” Dongfang Qingwan protested, a hint of displeasure in her voice. Not being allowed to stray more than two hundred meters felt far too restrictive. She’d never needed a bodyguard back in high school and had been perfectly safe.

What she didn’t realize was that, though Jinling University was a nationally renowned institution, its management was relatively relaxed. The campus was a mix of all sorts, far less secure than her previous closed-off, elite high school.

Problems were rare, but if anything did happen, Qin Xuan wouldn’t be able to bear the responsibility.

“Alright, alright, I’ll listen to you. Military training is starting soon, so hurry along,” Dongfang Qingwan, though a little disgruntled, nodded in understanding. Qin Xuan waved at her, then headed down to join his own formation.

Seated on the bleachers, Dongfang Qingwan became a dazzling sight for the new students in military training. Many girls looked at her with scorn, thinking she was pampered—taking leave from military training, no less.

Clearly, she had connections; not only could she skip training, she could still get full credit...

Qin Xuan overheard some of their gossip and couldn’t help but sneer inwardly. The pain of her Body of Profound Yin was something none of them could comprehend.

While they sang at KTV at night, Dongfang Qingwan stayed home reading.

While they feasted outside, Dongfang Qingwan stayed home reading.

While they gathered with classmates, Dongfang Qingwan stayed home reading.

Her unique constitution had cost her so much—she’d lost too much, in fact. If she wasn’t careful, even her life could be forfeit.

How could those mocking girls possibly understand?

If Dongfang Qingwan could choose, she’d probably rather be just an ordinary girl...

As Qin Xuan approached his formation, he suddenly noticed three people watching him furtively, huddled together in discussion.

“What are those three up to?” Qin Xuan wondered, amused. The trio was familiar: Zou Qingshu, Yang Guang, Zhao Xu.

Curious, Qin Xuan focused and eavesdropped on their conversation.

“Hey, Guang, didn’t you say you’d find someone to deal with Qin Xuan?” Zou Qingshu whispered.

“Damn it, I did say that, but this guy’s useless! Zhao Xu, didn’t you claim everyone was shit to you? Why are you so scared of Qin Xuan?” Yang Guang cursed.

“Hell, how was I supposed to know you meant him? Anyone else, I wouldn’t care, but I can't handle this guy,” Zhao Xu grumbled.

“Isn’t your uncle the person in charge of our military training? Why be scared of him?” Yang Guang reminded.

“That’s useless,” Zhao Xu explained.

From yesterday’s events, it was clear Qin Xuan knew Zhao Jun, and Zhao Jun seemed to like him. Not to mention, Qin Xuan knew Zhao Long too—how could Zhao Xu dare mess with him?

Nearby, Zhou Xiaoyu and Gao Tie were laughing.

Zhou Xiaoyu snickered, “Heh, those three are definitely plotting against the boss. Too bad—they’re no match for him.”

Gao Tie boasted, “That’s what happens when you don’t frequent the forums. If they did, they’d never think of going against Brother Qin.”

Right now, the forums were filled with posts about Li Shihao suffering at Qin Xuan’s hands. In Gao Tie’s mind, if even Li Shihao lost, what threat could these three pose?

But their voices were too loud; Zhao Xu overheard them and spun around angrily, “Screw you! Ever heard of three cobblers making a Zhuge Liang?”

His words surprised everyone.

Zhou Xiaoyu exclaimed, “Wow, you admit you’re a cobbler? Hey, Young Master Zou, Young Master Yang, you’re cobblers too—pleased to meet you!”

“Can’t you talk properly?” Yang Guang smacked Zhao Xu’s head.

“Damn, you dare hit me?” Zhao Xu, not to be outdone, squared his broad shoulders, glared, and faced off against Yang Guang.

“Alright, alright, we’re all on the same side...” Zou Qingshu hurried to mediate.

“Shut up,” Zhao Xu snapped without looking back, and Yang Guang simply ignored Zou Qingshu.

As a basketball recruit, Yang Guang had his own imposing presence. Zhao Xu was used to being a bully and wasn’t afraid of him. The two glared at each other, leaving Zou Qingshu completely sidelined.

Qin Xuan couldn’t help but feel speechless at these three clowns.

They want to cause trouble for him? They can’t even get along among themselves...

“Qin Xuan! Haha!” A hearty voice rang out. He turned to see Zhao Jun approaching.

“Oh? Uncle Zhao’s here. How’s Instructor Liu doing?” Qin Xuan asked, nodding with a smile.

“He’s awake, nothing serious,” Zhao Jun replied. “Wang Xiang’s family agreed to pay the fifteen thousand, so he learned his lesson.”

“Is he here for military training today?” Qin Xuan looked around but didn’t see Wang Xiang.

“No. If the money isn’t paid and the apology isn’t submitted, you think I’ll let him train? Haha,” Zhao Jun chuckled.

“I see.” Qin Xuan nodded, saying no more. He trusted Zhao Jun to handle Wang Xiang, and perhaps he’d find time to visit Instructor Liu—there were few in today’s society willing to risk their lives like that.

“Alright, today’s training isn’t just standing at attention. Train hard,” Zhao Jun patted his shoulder and walked away.

Zhao Xu breathed a sigh of relief once Zhao Jun left. Yang Guang whispered, “Hey, Zhao Xu, since you can’t do anything, should I ask someone else?”

“Who do you know?” Zhao Xu sneered.

“Hell, the son of the city’s police chief. He’s my brother, a year ahead of us, and last year he came to Jinling University—they call him the Emperor of Jinling. He’s awesome,” Yang Guang said, brimming with pride.
