“Xiao Yu, what’s wrong?” Su Muqing asked hurriedly.

“Wuwu... Su... Sister Su, it’s you... wuwu...” Ye Xiaoyu’s tears flowed uncontrollably.

“Don’t cry, Xiao Yu. Did someone bully you?” Su Muqing comforted her, patting her shoulder.

Qin Xuan exchanged a puzzled glance with Su Mubai. Even if she had failed the interview, she shouldn’t be this heartbroken. Had something happened just now?

“Come, follow me,” Su Muqing said, pulling Ye Xiaoyu out of the elevator. To her, it was clear that Ye Xiaoyu had been mistreated, and she was determined to help her seek justice.

Qin Xuan and Su Mubai followed, only to find Ye Xiaoyu hesitating and unwilling to move forward.

“Sister Su, wuwu... maybe we shouldn’t go. Otherwise, you might get scolded too... wuwu,” Ye Xiaoyu said anxiously.

“What? Someone just scolded you?” Su Muqing frowned and glanced at Su Mubai, silently questioning how the interviewers at Jinling TV Station—under Su Mubai’s management—could be so rude.

Su Mubai was equally confused. Nothing like this had ever happened before. He pointed ahead. “Qin Xuan, why don’t you take Ye Xiaoyu to see for yourself? I want to know who in this company dares to scold someone.”

“Alright,” Qin Xuan agreed.

Since Su Mubai and Su Muqing were shareholders of the TV station, no one dared to act recklessly in front of them.

“Come on, Xiao Yu, let’s go have a look,” Qin Xuan said gently.

“No, forget it. I don’t want this job anymore...” Ye Xiaoyu stood still.

Earlier, when she arrived on the sixth floor for her interview, she was shocked to find her interviewer was her old classmate, Jiang Ting. The last time they had applied for internships together, Jiang Ting’s family connections had secured her the only spot.

Now, Jiang Ting had become the interviewer, arrogant and condescending.

Ye Xiaoyu had hoped that seeing an old classmate would improve her chances, but instead, Jiang Ting started making things difficult, fixating on the small water stain on Ye Xiaoyu’s skirt.

“I think I saw you in the lobby. That skirt’s got mud on it, right? And you still have the nerve to come for an interview? This is a TV station, not just anyone can get in,” Jiang Ting sneered, her cruel words reducing Ye Xiaoyu to tears.

At that moment, Ye Xiaoyu didn’t want to face that sharp-tongued woman anymore, even if it meant giving up the job.

“What are you afraid of? Don’t worry, if someone has wronged you, I’ll help you get justice,” Qin Xuan said, placing a hand on Ye Xiaoyu’s shoulder. He activated his energy subtly, prompting her feet forward. She was startled and tried desperately to retreat, but her body moved involuntarily toward the interview office.

Soon, Qin Xuan and Ye Xiaoyu stood before the office door.

“Why are you here again?” an impatient female voice snapped. “With you like this, you want to work at the TV station? Who recommended you? What a disaster.”

Hearing this, Ye Xiaoyu’s tears flowed again. She turned away, unable to face the room.

Qin Xuan pulled her gently and peeked inside. Several people were sitting together, laughing. The woman speaking at the center was the smoky-eyed, fashionable lady he had seen earlier in the lobby.

“You’re Xiaoyu’s interviewer?” Qin Xuan said coldly as he stepped inside.

“It’s you?” The smoky-eyed woman was surprised. “Why didn’t the security guards kick you out? Hey, what’s your relationship with Ye Xiaoyu? Trying to stand up for her?”

“I just want to know how an interviewer can make a candidate cry,” Qin Xuan replied.

He glanced at Ye Xiaoyu, who dared not meet the smoky-eyed woman’s eyes, tears secretly streaming down her face. If he hadn’t held her, she would have left long ago.

“Don’t be afraid,” Qin Xuan said, patting her shoulder reassuringly.

“Heh, you want to cause trouble at the TV station?” A chubby young man beside the smoky-eyed woman sneered. “Director Jiang, I think we shouldn’t waste time talking to them. Call security and kick them out.”

The smoky-eyed woman was displeased seeing Qin Xuan so concerned about Ye Xiaoyu.

Her dislike for Ye Xiaoyu dated back to before graduation, when Ye Xiaoyu’s pure beauty and popularity with boys had always irked her.

Three months before graduation, Jiang Ting had finally secured an internship at the TV station through connections, beginning her days of arrogance. “So what if Ye Xiaoyu is prettier? Can she get a respectable job? So what if she looks pure and beautiful? Can she wear designer brands and carry famous bags?”

In Jiang Ting’s eyes, Ye Xiaoyu’s only path was to sell her looks and find a wealthy benefactor. She had expected Ye Xiaoyu to give in quickly and fall into such a trap. But seeing her come for an interview today infuriated Jiang Ting.

“I don’t care who Ye Xiaoyu knows. No one is getting her into this TV station today,” Jiang Ting said contemptuously to Qin Xuan.

“I don’t care about that. How did you just scold Xiaoyu? If you have the guts, say it again,” Qin Xuan said calmly.

“Still pretending?” Jiang Ting laughed mockingly, standing up and pointing at them. “A tramp and a loser, I don’t know whose connections you have, but you think you can work here? Have some shame!”

“Ye Xiaoyu, I think your man’s a coward and probably broke too. Want me to introduce you to a rich heir? You’ll have food, clothes, and fun every night...”

“Shut up!”

A cold, sharp voice came from the doorway. It was Su Mubai.

Qin Xuan felt relieved. Jiang Ting’s insults were becoming unbearable, and even he wanted to stop her. One could only imagine how Ye Xiaoyu felt hearing those words.

The sharp reprimand stopped Jiang Ting mid-rant. She widened her eyes and looked toward the door.

Even tearful Ye Xiaoyu lifted her head and saw the handsome young man who had appeared with Qin Xuan earlier at the elevator.

Standing coldly at the door, Su Mubai said, “Jiang Ting, you’re fired. I believe I don’t need to explain why.”

He had overheard Jiang Ting’s outrageous words outside and was burning with anger. How could such poor conduct be tolerated in Jinling TV Station, one of the city’s largest media companies?

“President Su, you can’t fire me! Secretary Jiang is my uncle...” Jiang Ting was stunned.

She never expected her superior to be listening at the door. Now, she certainly wouldn’t keep her position as deputy manager of HR.
