In the distance, the wind whipped up a flurry of sand, stirring specks of dust. Driven by the roaring wind, a ragged girl sprinted wildly from afar, running at a breakneck speed as if something was hunting her from behind.

Right behind her were two fiends. Though they were not orthodox four-armed fiends, but merely ordinary mortals corrupted by fiendish energy, they were still far beyond the defensive capabilities of an ordinary girl.

As luck would have it, the girl was fleeing directly toward Addis's location.

Instantly, Addis was left speechless, wondering if he had failed to check the auspicious almanac before heading out today.

He had thoroughly investigated this world. Following the great upheaval of the world and the Calamity of the Fiends, the living beings left in the world were very few in number, and fiends were even scarcer. Pure-breed four-armed fiends and those corrupted ordinary beings probably numbered only tens of thousands in total, with at most a few thousand heading south this time.

With such a small number spread across such a vast territory, and having deliberately avoided high-density zones, Addis still managed to run into them. It was truly speechless.

It seemed as though he had realized something, and he raised his head. A faint trace of destiny's power rippled across his body, merging seamlessly with the surrounding world.

Witnessing this, the corner of his twitching lips couldn't help but pull upward. "The power of destiny. Could it be because I altered Allen's original destiny trajectory, triggering his destiny prematurely and affecting the surrounding area?"

What was a Child of Destiny? Naturally, it was a combination of protagonist plot armor and disaster star halo.

Especially someone like Allen, born in response to destiny. His mission was to suppress the fiends, which naturally meant he would clash with them. If his destiny were activated prematurely due to Addis's influence, it would ripple outward, forcing those around him into inadvertent confrontations with fiends.

The girl running from the opposite direction had sprinted for a long time, and her speed began to drop as her stamina seemed to be running out.

Upon reaching a certain distance, she caught sight of Addis and his group. She froze for a moment, then screamed at the top of her lungs, exhausted: "Run! There are fiends here!"

However, hearing her warning, Addis showed not the slightest reaction. Even the tribesmen behind him stood silently, looking completely fearless.

Seeing this, the girl grew anxious. Gritting her teeth, she ran right up to Addis and urged, "Hurry up and run!"

None of them replied. Addis looked at the girl, shook his head, and remained silent.

"You people!" The girl glanced back. The silhouettes of the fiends were becoming increasingly distinct, yet Addis and his group still showed no intention of moving. Filled with indignation, she cried out, "The power of the fiends is beyond anything you can imagine! Run now, scatter yourselves—at least a few of you might survive!"

Clearly, she had mistaken Addis and his companions for some remote tribal group that had never witnessed the horrors of the fiends, and thus felt fearless simply because there were more of them.

Along her escape route, she had seen plenty of such tribes. Some remote communities, isolated for too long, had no inkling of the fiends' terror and ended up entirely slaughtered, only realizing the truth in their dying moments.

"It's too late," Addis replied calmly.

The figures of the two fiends had already emerged within everyone's line of sight. At the fiends' speed, escaping at this distance was no longer possible.

"Hahahaha! So many! Fresh flesh and blood!"

The leading fiend cackled wildly as it looked at Addis and the others, completely ignoring the dozens of tribesmen standing behind Addis.

In the face of these fiends who had awakened demonic magic, ordinary mortals were indeed utterly powerless. The fiends possessed formidable bodies and extraordinary regenerative powers; against the crude weapons of these primitive tribes, they could stand completely still and let the tribesmen strike them without even breaking their defenses.

"It's over..." Watching the approaching fiends, the girl muttered to herself, her mind blank. Reminded of the people she had seen previously torn apart by the fiends, her face turned pale while a flicker of resentment welled up in her heart.

"I tried to make this fellow run, but he refused to listen. Now look at us—we're all going to die here."

She glared at Addis with bitter resentment, then closed her eyes, a wave of despair washing over her. Clearly, she had exhausted every ounce of her stamina beforehand.

"Salila, I'm sorry. In the end, your sister couldn't find a way to save you."

The sandstorm raged, brushing past her shoulders. Tears welled up in her eyes as she closed them, awaiting her doom.

Yet, after a long while, she gradually began to feel that something was amiss. There were no screams outside; it was chillingly, unnaturally quiet. She opened her eyes and looked ahead, only to see a young man standing firmly in place.

Addis stood at the front, facing the two fiends with a calm and composed expression. In his hand, he held the same long spear, stained with specks of crimson and black demonic blood. Across from him, one of the fiends was clutching its injured arm, staring at him in sheer disbelief. "Impossible! Why can you possibly hurt me?"

To those words, Addis smiled faintly. "There are many things you haven't imagined yet."

As his voice fell, a flash of bloody light swept across the battlefield. A terrifying, blood-red aura erupted, enveloping Addis. Bathing in the crimson glow, his face serene like a god of slaughter stepping out from the crucible of war, he swept forward fiercely.

"Boom!"

Phantom after phantom of long spears condensed and surged forward. Under this single blow, a massive crater was blasted into the earth, accompanied by a thunderous roar and a thick, swirling cloud of dust and sand.

The young girl stared at the scene in absolute shock, feeling as though her worldview had been completely upended. She watched the figure gradually emerging from the dust in disbelief.

As the dust slowly settled, Addis stood firmly upon the earth. He did not turn back, yet the imposing aura radiating from him surged outward, suppressing all directions. Ahead of him, the two fiends had been blasted to smithereens, with only scattered fragments of flesh and blood left around.

"Impossible! This is a bloodline secret technique... To think he could cultivate it to this extent..." The girl stared at the scene before her, acting as though she had lost her mind entirely.

In this world, some human lineages had indeed managed to inherit fragments of bloodline secret techniques. However, because these techniques had such demanding requirements and originated from the Four-Armed tribe, making them poorly compatible with ordinary humans, no one had ever managed to break through to the rank of a Knight, rendering them naturally incapable of matching the fiends.

Yet the scene before her today shattered the girl's long-held perceptions, leaving her completely dazed, as if she were living inside a dream.

Addis turned his head to look at the girl. The powerful aura still clinging to his body instantly snapped her back to reality.

"Now, we can have a proper talk," he said, looking down at the young girl.

Glancing at Addis and the dozens of sturdy warriors standing behind him, the girl very wisely shut her mouth.

The girl's name was Tina, and she was the daughter of a tribal chieftain. Months ago, following the massive offensive launched by the fiends, her tribe had been raided, forcing her to flee alone. Even so, she had eventually been cornered by the fiends and nearly captured.

"So, you're saying the fiends have established a stronghold in this region, and they're holding the people they've captured over the past few days imprisoned there?"

Hearing this news, a gleam of light flashed in Addis's eyes.

He had been worrying about his tribe's sparse population and wishing to go out and raid for people, and here someone had delivered the very opportunity right to his doorstep.
