Within the borders, Adis gazed at the unchanging void before him and frowned slightly.

“It seems that as the world’s origin continues to grow stronger, the border is gradually expanding as well, bringing about an increase in the world’s size.”

After observing it carefully for a while, Adis reached this conclusion.

“However, because the growth is so slow, it would be impossible to notice without making a deliberate effort to observe it.”

As he thought this, something profound gradually emerged in his hand.

It was a world coordinate radiating the aura of the void, recording the location of another world.

“Now that this world has settled down, and its merger with the main world will still require a long time, it is time to visit that Demon God’s world.”

Adis still remembered the appearance of that Demon God, as well as the fragments of memory he had obtained. They gave him some understanding of that world.

“Regardless, it is still a world. Even if it is on the verge of destruction, it remains exceedingly precious.”

With that thought, the mark in his hand slowly began to glow. A trace of spatial power rippled outward. On the other side, it seemed that a world was faintly emerging, radiating a dim light.

However, because the distance was far too great, his perception was extremely indistinct. Even with all his strength, Adis could only sense it in the broadest terms.

“The distance is too great. If I send my true body there, the expenditure will be enormous.”

Sensing that world, Adis frowned. “It seems I can only send a fragment of my divine soul.”

The distance between worlds was immeasurably vast, but even when the method of transmission was the same, the energy consumed by sending one’s true body and sending only a fragment of the divine soul belonged to entirely different levels.

Once he had made his decision, boundless spatial power began to spread through the void under the stimulation of divine power. Within the depths of space, it seemed that a World Gate was slowly opening.

At the same time, the divine power within Adis’s body was being consumed at a frantic rate to sustain the passage.

He did not dare delay. With a light sweep of his sleeve, a fragment of his divine soul separated from his body and entered the gate.

At once, Adis felt the consumption of divine power within him increase sharply. In an instant, that fragment of his divine soul was sent away.

Through the void, a streak of radiance flashed past, carrying immense divine power as it rapidly crossed countless miles. Guided by the coordinate, it arrived in a distant region.

It was a vast yet dim world. Once powerful, it had now begun to fall into decline. Even the protective barrier surrounding the world had vanished, allowing Adis’s power to enter freely.

At that moment, in a ruined village upon the earth, an infant let out its first cry.

Just then, the battered fragment of divine soul flew past, circling the surrounding area before finally entering the infant’s body.

The baby slowly opened its eyes. Its gaze was still hazy and innocent, yet a streak of gold flashed through its pupils.

…

Fifteen years later, within the ruined village, a handsome youth stood in an open space, a spear in his hand and a faint golden hue in his eyes.

He appeared to be about fifteen years old. Dressed in a long robe made of animal hide, he stood there with an imposing air that was difficult to describe.

He swung the stone spear in his hand, thrusting it repeatedly at a straw dummy before him.

With each thrust, faint sounds of air being split rang out, accompanied by a sharp pressure that surged forward.

After a while, when the youth finally stopped, the straw dummy before him had vanished, leaving only a long wooden pole standing there in solitude.

“After fifteen years of slumber, I have finally awakened.”

Looking at the dry straw scattered across the ground, Adis’s expression remained calm as he thought this.

A mere fragment of his soul had crossed countless miles to reach another world, and it naturally required a vessel to contain it. At the time, there had been no other suitable targets nearby, and the power of his soul was on the verge of exhaustion, so he had chosen to seize the body of an infant who had just been born.

Afterward, his divine soul had fallen into a deep slumber. It was only after fifteen years of recuperation that he finally awakened several days ago.

“But this world truly is in decline.”

He raised his head and looked toward the dim heavens in the distance.

If the world Adis had previously inhabited had merely suffered erosion, then this world had truly been reduced to its final breath.

As the birthplace of that Demon God, its destruction was utterly thorough. Because the world’s origin had been plundered, most of the land had already turned into desert. Countless forms of life had perished, leaving only a few scattered oases by sheer luck, providing a place for the last remaining creatures to survive.

“The consciousness of this world has already declined to its absolute limit. If things continue like this for another few thousand years, then once the final oases are swallowed by the desert and the last living beings vanish, the world itself will be destroyed.”

With this thought, Adis looked outside and walked out.

Around him, the people dressed in tattered animal hides saw him and hurriedly bowed with respectful expressions.

“Young Chieftain, the elder is looking for you,” said a bare-chested man as he approached Adis.

Hearing this, Adis nodded to show that he understood, then turned and walked toward another part of the village.

It was a wooden house. Though crude, it had been kept very clean.

“Adis, you have come.”

Inside, an extremely old man looked at Adis as he entered and managed to force a smile.

“You are fifteen now, aren’t you?”

Adis nodded and looked at him.

The old man opposite him sighed with emotion. “Now that you have reached this age, you are officially an adult. You may inherit the position of tribal chief.”

He sighed again, then slowly walked outside. From within the house, he carefully brought out a wooden box.

The box was worn and seemed to be many years old. When it was opened, it revealed a long piece of animal hide.

“Oh?”

Adis was somewhat surprised when he saw the hide.

Although the aura had faded considerably, he could still sense the extraordinarily powerful demonic energy permeating it. It was clearly the hide of a magical beast.

And judging from what he knew of this tribe, it was nearly impossible for them to hunt such a beast. This naturally aroused his interest.

Before him, the old man gazed at the hide in his hands, a trace of remembrance flashing through his eyes.

“This contains a portion of the power passed down through our tribe. It has always been kept in the charge of the elders and the chiefs. Now, I am entrusting it to you.”

“Tonight, I will announce that you are to inherit the position of chief.”

As he spoke, he looked at Adis’s still-calm expression and nodded inwardly.

Yet he did not know that, to Adis, who possessed an entire world, a mere tribal settlement in a ruined world was hardly worth his attention. Naturally, there was no reason for him to display any particular emotion.
