When the teacher in the infirmary asked Lu Yu to remove his school uniform, Asi was standing nearby. Lu Yu felt a bit embarrassed, stealing a shy glance at Asi, only to find the girl's eyes moist and innocent. The words he'd intended to ask her to leave stuck in his throat, and he hesitantly took off his clothes.

His youthful, sturdy waist was revealed, along with a myriad of scars—some old, some new. Compared to the wounds he received today from Lu Zhouyuan and the others, the scars on his back were much more severe.

The moment Lu Yu took off his shirt, Asi stood up and walked behind him, urgently examining his back. The teacher was right there, and Lu Yu's cheeks flushed red. He lowered his head, bashfully allowing the girl to scrutinize him. He knew he had a good physique, and he was aware of the many wounds littering his body. He wondered, if she saw them, would she feel pity or would she be repulsed?

Lu Yu clenched his hands so tightly that his palms began to sweat. If she felt pity... He stole another glance at Asi; her expression was calm, betraying nothing. He moved his lips, wanting to say something.

His awkward expression amused the nearby teacher, who teased, "Young man, you’d better listen to your girlfriend in the future. Look at all these injuries you’ve gotten yourself into—your little girlfriend doesn’t look pleased!"

"I’m not his girlfriend," Asi suddenly interjected, clearly annoyed. Both the teacher and Lu Yu were taken aback.

"I’ll wait for you outside," Asi said, and left.

Lu Yu was left feeling defeated. He'd just glanced at Asi—her lips pressed tightly together, the two round dimples on her cheeks looking indignant, her big, dark eyes full of accusation. Lu Yu’s heart trembled; he wanted to pull her into his arms and comfort her. But the girl walked away without any hesitation.

Clutching the ointment prescribed by the teacher, Lu Yu hurried out. Seeing the girl standing by the wall, he let out a long breath.

"I’m sorry, the teacher didn’t mean anything by it. Don’t take it to heart..." He approached her step by step, his brows furrowed, and said in a low voice, "Is it so embarrassing to be my girlfriend?"

Asi shook her head, and Lu Yu’s eyes lit up.

"Why should I be your girlfriend? I’m not your girlfriend at all."

Even though Asi looked angry at Lu Yu, she still replied politely. They weren’t in a romantic relationship—in the human world, that would be lovers, right? How could they possibly be? Asi glanced at Lu Yu again and said calmly, "Let’s go back, it’s time for class."

She walked ahead, her eyes growing ever more aggrieved. The more she thought about it, the more upset she became. Suddenly, she stopped, turned around, her little face fierce, and demanded, "Why didn’t you fight back when they hit you? And why do you have so many wounds? Fighting isn’t good. You’re not allowed to fight anymore."

Asi shot Lu Yu a reproachful look, then turned and ran off.

Lu Yu couldn’t decipher the meaning behind her gaze. Hands in his pockets, he stared at her retreating figure for a long time. Only when she disappeared from sight did he come to himself and slowly made his way back to the classroom.

She was concerned about him, wasn’t she? No fighting, no getting hurt... Could it mean... she feels sorry seeing his wounds?
