Chapter 12: After Class, She Fell Into My Arms (10)
“Did I say anything wrong? Isn’t she a—”
Before he could finish, Lu Yu threw another punch.
Those nearby couldn’t even pull them apart.
Lu Yu seemed possessed by rage, his fists raining down one after another, leaving Lu Zhouyuan no chance to retaliate.
“I’ll let you hit, but you’d better watch your mouth! She’s not someone you can insult!”
Lu Yu pinned Lu Zhouyuan beneath him, his face already marred by wounds, now glaring fiercely as if he might tear someone apart.
Asi watched Lu Yu, her gaze gradually filling with confusion.
His school uniform was rumpled, and with each swing of his fist, the pale skin of his neck was exposed.
On that patch of skin, she caught sight of a faint red mark, but before she could look closely, it was hidden again.
She stepped forward urgently, wanting to see more clearly, when suddenly the atmosphere shifted, and she looked up to find the Dean standing at the front of the crowd.
The Dean… he must be formidable, right?
“Teacher…”
Asi spoke softly.
She didn’t dare meet the Dean’s eyes, which seemed about to burst into flames.
“You! All of you, come to my office!”
Asi, naturally, was among them.
Truthfully, she had always been obedient, whether in the Heavenly Palace or among mortals.
Each time she was reprimanded by the Heavenly Emperor, it was almost always for covering for Little Bai.
Since that little black snake appeared, Asi had nearly daily complaints from different immortals.
It troubled her, but whenever Little Bai curled up on her shoulder and looked at her with those eyes bright as starlight, all her anger melted away.
“Why were you fighting?”
The Dean sat in his chair, rapping his pen hard against the desk.
Asi glanced at the black desk, now dented from the Dean’s forceful strikes, and at the spit occasionally flying from his mouth. She frowned and remained silent.
Lu Yu, standing nearby, moved forward just enough to block Asi, shielding her from the stray droplets.
Asi gave Lu Yu a grateful look, her luminous eyes glimmering like water. The tips of Lu Yu’s ears reddened, and he casually shifted his gaze, meeting the Dean’s fiery eyes.
“Lu Yu, tell me why you were fighting!”
The pen struck the desk a few more times.
Lu Yu cast a lazy glance at Lu Zhouyuan, his tongue pressed against the right side, wincing from the pain. “He rubbed me the wrong way.”
“You—!”
Just then, the office door was knocked a few times. The Dean’s face remained stern as he called, “Come in!”
A boy entered, clean-cut and tidy.
He scanned the group gathered before the Dean’s desk, lowered his head, and walked straight over, handing a folder to the Dean.
“Teacher, I’ve finished the paperwork. I’ll head back to class now.”
The Dean nodded.
Asi’s gaze lingered on the boy, her cheeks suddenly flushing.
If she remembered correctly, his name was Su Jing, wasn’t it?
Recalling the scene in the alley when she accidentally saw him pinned against the wall by a girl for a kiss, Asi couldn’t help but blush fiercely.
Lu Yu, who had been watching her all along, noticed, and a shadow of gloom crossed his face.
“Look at Su Jing—he’s only a junior, yet A University has already taken notice of him. He’s preparing for early admission these days. And you lot? All you know is fighting!”
The Dean fumed, glancing at Lu Yu’s defiant expression. “You should learn from Su Jing—this is how a student should behave. Stop fighting and causing trouble in school!”
Lu Yu snorted disdainfully. “Bookworm.”
