Shen Guodong’s sudden roar had already brought the front desk to a standstill. Hearing a strange voice interject, he turned his head and saw a short, stocky man brazenly flirting with his wife. His temper flared instantly. "What do you think you're doing? Are you hitting on my wife?"

The shout cracked through the air like a thunderbolt, catching the man, known as Young Master Wang, completely off guard. As he turned to face Shen Guodong, his brow furrowed with a look of feigned concern. "Is this lady already married?"

Liu Yueru, shaken out of her surprise, nodded. "That is correct. I am married."

Young Master Wang sighed dramatically. "Oh, what a pity. How unfortunate. If I had met you sooner, I’m sure you wouldn't have married your husband first."

The provocation was blatant. Shen Guodong, never one to hold his tongue, stood up abruptly. "Dream on. Even if you had met her earlier, you wouldn't have stood a chance."

Young Master Wang sneered, clearly enjoying the reaction. "Oh really? And what’s the point of having such a beautiful wife if you can't even afford to buy her a simple squirrel-shaped mandarin fish? If I were in your shoes, I’d be so ashamed I’d jump off a building."

The comment rippled through the crowd. Many onlookers were already jealous; Liu Yueru possessed a rare, star-like elegance—graceful, confident, and captivating.

Shen Guodong chuckled. "And how would you know what I can or cannot afford?"

"Oh, come on," Wang retorted. "Who was just complaining about the hour-long wait? Don't try to save face when your pockets are empty."

Shen Guodong shook his head, unwilling to engage further. Having lived a life where he had dealt with countless low-level "second-generation rich" types, he found this man’s behavior tedious. With his wife and sister-in-law present, he wanted to avoid a scene, but Young Master Wang mistook his restraint for weakness. "What's wrong? Feeling guilty?"

Liu Yueru stood up, her voice cold. "He is my husband. We are just here for a meal. Please, stop harassing us."

Liu Yuexian, her sister, jumped in with a fiery glare. "Hey, you little shrimp! Keep talking like that and see if I don't slap you into next week!"

Seeing the younger woman, Young Master Wang’s eyes lit up. "Oh, a little sister! You must be a student—surely you aren't married yet?"

Yuexian acted like a wild filly. "So what if I’m not? What’s it to you? Get lost before I lose my temper."

Wang’s face darkened, his ego bruised. "You people..."

The attendant, Ali, quickly chimed in. "Young Master Wang, don't mind them. Let them wait in line. I’ll have the kitchen prepare your meal immediately."

Wang turned back to Yuexian with a smirk. "Little sister, want a real meal? Call me 'brother' and apologize for your rudeness, and I’ll take you to the private room—the VIP Suite No. 1. Do you have any idea how expensive that is?"

"Bah! You’re just a peacock showing off your daddy’s money," Yuexian spat. "You think you're so special? We'll get our food just fine without you."

Shen Guodong pulled Yuexian back. "Forget it, Yuexian. Don't waste your breath on a guy who thinks his father’s wallet makes him a man." He turned to the attendant. "Get me a private room. I don't care about the price."

Ali hesitated. "I'm sorry, sir, but we require a deposit for the private rooms. They are quite expensive."

"How much?" Shen asked.

"The VIP Suite is twenty yuan. Standard private rooms are ten."

Shen Guodong scoffed. "Is that all? Ten yuan? You scared me for a second." He pulled two ten-yuan bills from his pocket and slapped them on the counter. "Is this enough?"

Young Master Wang blinked in surprise but quickly sneered. "Playing the big spender, are you? Don't come crying when you're eating plain buns for the rest of the month because you blew your budget on a meal."

As he spoke, Wang reached out to grab Yuexian’s arm. Before he could make contact, she spun, grabbed his shoulder, and shoved him to the floor.

"You brat! How dare you hit me? Do you know who I am? Do you know who my father is?" Wang shrieked from the ground like a petulant child.

Shen Guodong, his patience completely exhausted, stepped forward and delivered a sharp kick to Wang’s midsection. The scrawny man slid across the floor, slamming into the wall.

Ali screamed. Wang was the son of one of the restaurant's shareholders; she knew her job was likely finished. She rushed to his side. "Young Master! Are you alright?"

Wang, clutching his stomach and spitting a bit of blood, hissed, "Call the police! Get them arrested!"

At the sound of the commotion, security guards began pouring into the room.
