"Sniper at four o'clock!"
"Sniper at six o'clock!"
"Sniper at three o'clock!"
Sten and his men had indeed tightened the encirclement.
But the concentration of personnel also provided He Tian with tremendous convenience.
If He Tian was far inferior to Chou in the cultivation of internal strength, then, in the use of conventional weapons and special operations, He Tian was leagues ahead—Chou could not compare at all!
The title of King of Soldiers earned in Africa was a testament to He Tian’s abilities in these areas, a recognition of the highest order.
Internal strength served as an auxiliary, while the power of firearms was unleashed to its fullest. In this instant, He Tian had become an unstoppable god of slaughter!
His blood boiled, and savage emotions surged in his chest.
Whenever his brothers were involved, He Tian’s explosive temperament was revealed in full force.
Now, Sten and his men were the perfect targets for He Tian to vent his rage.
Damn it, just because I took a piece of your jade, you have to push my brothers this far?
That was how He Tian thought, and it was exactly how he acted.
One shot, one kill—after each shot, he swiftly changed position. The complex terrain of the jungle became He Tian’s best cover.
Gunfire echoed throughout the jungle, but they could not pinpoint He Tian’s location, forcing them to fire blindly into the woods.
Although this didn’t help them find He Tian, it did affect him somewhat.
"I’ll see just how many bullets you have left!" He Tian sneered inwardly, quietly beginning to relocate. He intended to move behind the group and eliminate their communications and supply of ammunition entirely.
When that time came, the jungle would become a true den of beasts. And He Tian would be one of those beasts.
"Spread out! Stay concealed! Find him—find him!" Sten roared angrily, itching to set fire to the entire jungle in his fury.
But Sten dared not...
He knew well the consequences of burning down the Devil’s Jungle—and besides, it was impossible to actually burn it down!
Even if, theoretically, it could be done, Sten would be torn to shreds by the jungle’s myriad inhabitants long before he could escape.
"Boss, something’s off! Why is the counterattack so fierce now? Based on our previous encounters, he shouldn’t have this capability anymore!" Capo frowned, looking at Sten.
"You mean someone’s come to assist him?" Sten was no fool; he immediately picked up the implication in Capo’s words.
"Aside from that, nothing else makes sense," Capo replied gravely.
Sten frowned slightly.
Someone had come to help...
That set Sten’s mind racing.
Was this premeditated? How many reinforcements did the other side have? How strong were they? Who were they?
Were they other generals from the homeland or foreign forces?
Sten knew nothing about any of this.
And for anyone, unknown enemies are the most terrifying.
So now, Sten was plagued by uncertainty...
"Capo, contact the outside immediately. Have the general dispatch reconnaissance aircraft and troops to survey the perimeter of the Devil’s Jungle—even the entire border! I need the most accurate intelligence," Sten said, his expression grim and voice low.
"Understood!" Capo nodded. Without knowing the enemy’s situation, this was the best course of action.
But just then—
A series of cries erupted!
Everyone turned toward the rear!
Even through the dense jungle, they could sense the massive explosion happening there!
Sten’s face darkened instantly.

Capo’s heart skipped a beat.
"Ammunition!" Sten murmured.
Though his men were elite, each carrying enough ammo for extended combat, having steady resupply and having none at all were two very different concepts!
"Boss, the communicator..." Capo was more concerned about other matters. The communications equipment was kept with the ammunition! If the ammo was gone, what about the communicator?
Only now did Sten realize the communicator was emitting static!
Clearly, the communications system had been completely destroyed!
No more ammo resupply, no more communications. Sten knew—big trouble had arrived...
Their opponent was too experienced, knowing exactly what actions were most effective and swift.
In a flash, Sten’s lifeline was severed in two places!
In this Devil’s Jungle, any movement would now be exponentially more difficult for Sten and his men.
Even one simple fact—the need not to disperse too much—was enough to be deadly!
"What’s the Guard Battalion good for?" Sten yelled in frustration, his local Burmese dialect making him sound as if he were chanting some mysterious curse.
"Gunfire... Boss, that side might be engaged with the enemy... Quick! Let’s go provide support!" Capo, a master with third-tier internal strength, had hearing far superior to Sten’s.
"Move!" Sten, the man who commanded the general’s elite forces, was decisive.
The concentration of personnel meant the loss of communications didn’t affect them much.
With gestures and shouts, the entire team raced swiftly toward the rear.
He Tian was indeed exchanging fire with the Guard Battalion!
But it was deliberate on He Tian’s part!
Blowing up their ammo depot and communications system was a simple matter for him—he could have left easily.
Yet, a chance occurrence made He Tian change his mind.
Because, amid the shockwave from the destroyed ammo depot... golden sparks glittered forth!
Accompanied by a mysterious chime...
Soon, these golden lights landed precisely on the wounded nearby, those injured by the explosion...
A bizarre scene unfolded!
The blood of the injured surged toward the golden spots, which rapidly expanded!
After all the blood was absorbed, the golden lights shrank back to the size of a thumb!
Golden Medicine Beetles!
They were Golden Medicine Beetles!
Thirty-three in total!
This discovery rooted He Tian to the spot!
A cascade of plans flooded his mind.
He Tian quickly relocated to the opposite side of Sten’s main force.
Then he kept shifting positions as he fired!
But each shot wounded rather than killed.
The golden beetles moved at incredible speed, working in seamless coordination with He Tian!
Since he wasn’t aiming for instant kills, his shooting rate tripled.
Everyone wounded was devoured by the Golden Medicine Beetles!
The Guard Battalion had only forty or so men, plus thirty wounded.
Between deaths from the explosion and those drained by the beetles, over fifty men perished!

Now, after He Tian’s rapid volley of shots, the Guard Battalion was wiped out entirely.
He watched as the beetles, seemingly sated, did not burrow underground but chirped to each other, and greed flashed in He Tian’s eyes.
Golden Medicine Beetles!
They were deadly jungle killers!
Once targeted by them, their burrowing and rapid movement made them silent assassins.
An extremely dangerous creature!
Yet, Golden Medicine Beetles were treasures in themselves—at least, for practitioners of internal strength.
He Tian, though newly admitted into Dragon Soul, was fundamentally a talent raised by the Dragon Head from childhood.
Thus, he enjoyed many privileges that ordinary Dragon Soul entrants could never hope for, such as access to certain collected materials.
Among these rare marvels, He Tian had read about the Golden Medicine Beetles.
When combined with various herbs, they could be refined into a pill of immense value for internal strength practitioners!
It was said the pill could greatly enhance internal cultivation and even improve the body itself!
Originally, obtaining one beetle would have made He Tian rejoice—he’d planned to hand it over to the Dragon Head for refinement, ensuring he’d get a share of the finished pills, thus allowing rapid advancement.
Perhaps then, entering the Four Dragons would no longer require such slow, painstaking accumulation.
But now, there were thirty-three...
He Tian’s heart was ablaze!
If... if he could claim all the Golden Medicine Beetles...
He Tian could barely contain his excitement!
These were legendary treasures, impossible to seek and nearly impossible to encounter!
Who would have imagined so many in this Burmese primeval jungle?
He Tian recalled the local description of the jungle, the reputation as the Devil’s Jungle.
Now, he understood what "devil" truly meant!
With these beetles present, hunting ordinary people was child’s play!
Even for a master like He Tian, if caught in their trap, he wouldn’t escape unscathed!
The danger was beyond measure!
"Still not full, are you? When Golden Medicine Beetles are full, they won’t burrow underground... That’s when my chance arrives!" He Tian murmured, his gaze fixed on Sten’s position.
Everything was unfolding according to He Tian’s plan. Sten and his men, rushing over, were merely being used as fodder for the beetles!
He Tian’s ears twitched, quickly picking up a series of sounds!
He Tian prepared swiftly!
His sniper rifle aimed precisely at their direction...
He Tian was ready to play for high stakes!
