Chapter 50: Picking Someone Up at the Airport, Wang Xinrou Grows Jealous
“Sir!” Akun sat in the front passenger seat of the RV, turning to look at Young Master Hai, who had his eyes closed in contemplation.
“Speak!” Young Master Hai replied with a faint smile at the corner of his lips.
Having settled matters with He Tian put Young Master Hai in an exceedingly good mood.
“We’ve only seen He Tian race once. Isn’t that a bit too risky?” Akun said quietly.
“You can tell if someone’s a good driver from just one race. You watched that footage—do you think He Tian isn’t a skilled racer?” Young Master Hai opened his eyes and looked directly at Akun.
“He’s good, no doubt! But that was against weak opponents. In a real, intense collision, who knows how he’d perform?” Akun hesitated for a moment but voiced his thoughts anyway.
Though it sounded like hindsight, since the contract with He Tian was already signed, Akun knew that if He Tian didn’t measure up, the contract would be worthless to Young Master Hai.
“That’s a fair point!” Young Master Hai glanced at Akun and asked, “Any ideas?”
“Sir, perhaps we could organize a race among the other young masters of Tianhai. First, it would test He Tian’s abilities against stronger contenders, and second, it would serve as an intimidation for the other young masters, especially Cheng and Qi—they’re far too arrogant!” Akun quickly suggested.
“That’s not a bad idea. But... it would expose He Tian.” Young Master Hai frowned slightly, then relaxed and smiled. “I doubt my actions could stay hidden anyway. Let him be exposed! I’ll contact Cheng, Qi, and the rest. Maybe we’ll even profit from this opportunity.”
“Sir, speaking of He Tian, he’s got nerve—choosing a villa in Dragonsea Gardens. He’s clearly trying to extort you! Not exactly proper behavior,” Akun complained.
“As long as he’s truly talented, what does it matter? Don’t bring this up again. If he’s not up to standard, he won’t get any of it,” Young Master Hai said coldly.
“Right, send someone to keep a closer eye on He Tian, but don’t let him notice. A few days ago, their attack on Wang Xinyou was foiled by He Tian—he’s probably a bodyguard the Wang family hired. When the time comes, find a chance to test He Tian’s true capabilities,” Young Master Hai instructed.
“Understood, Sir!” Akun nodded.
Young Master Hai closed his eyes once more, a faint smile appearing at the corner of his mouth.
Dragonsea Gardens, Villa No. 03.
He Tian watched Young Master Hai’s car drive away, his face full of cold amusement.
Though he hadn’t paid much attention to Young Master Hai’s petty tricks, he had learned a lot about what kind of man he was.
Still, He Tian didn’t care about Young Master Hai’s character—he was more interested in other aspects.
He Tian had considered things from Young Master Hai’s perspective: if he were Young Master Hai, and had investigated He Tian’s background, there would definitely be suspicions.
He Tian hadn’t planned to conceal his skills; he was certain Young Master Hai would guess he was protecting the Wang sisters.
What He Tian couldn’t be sure of was whether Young Master Hai would try to pinpoint his origins.
If Young Master Hai suspected he was sent by higher authorities, He Tian would need to be extra cautious.
But in He Tian’s view, that was unlikely. If he had truly come from above, no matter how much freedom he was granted, he’d never be allowed to participate in something like Young Master Hai’s racing events.
That served as a perfect cover for He Tian.
As for Dragon Soul...
Very few people knew about it. Even if Young Master Hai wielded vast power, he couldn’t possibly know about Dragon Soul, nor understand the freedom its members enjoyed.
All in all, considering everything from different perspectives, He Tian’s plan was progressing smoothly.
He just needed to see what discoveries or gains would come from his future encounters with Young Master Hai.
“I really don’t know what you’re up to! Getting so close to him, calling him brother, it’s disgusting!” Wang Xinyou came up to He Tian, her tone full of irritation.
“I told you, if you want to know, ask Xinmeng. Don’t ask me!” He Tian pushed everything onto Wang Xinmeng.
“Hmph, I will ask her! Don’t think you can keep me in the dark!” Wang Xinyou retorted.
“So, what do you think of the villa?” He Tian asked her.
“It’s amazing!” Wang Xinyou’s face lit up with excitement, her mood instantly shifting.
“Let’s try to move in soon,” He Tian wanted to experience what it was like to live in such an ultra-luxurious villa.
“I’m fine with it! The key is my sister, and that’s your job!” Wang Xinyou immediately grabbed He Tian’s hand, dragging him toward the beach. “Let’s go check out the seaside!”
There was a large pavilion by the sea, with tables and chairs ready for use.
It was clear the beach had been specially constructed—a genuine beach resort.
He Tian couldn’t help but sigh.
Money really does make life good—what a level of luxury!
And with such a vast villa area...
With just a bit of arrangement, this place could become an impregnable fortress, impossible for anyone to sneak into unnoticed.
Everything was flawless.
The surrounding villas were thoughtfully placed, so it didn’t feel desolate.
Everything was perfect.
Once He Tian and Wang Xinyou’s initial excitement had faded, hunger set in.
Leaving Dragonsea Gardens, the two found a restaurant and had a belated lunch, then He Tian took Wang Xinyou straight to the airport.
“Are we picking someone up?” Wang Xinyou asked as they headed for the airport.
“Right again!” He Tian nodded with a smile.
“Who is it?” Wang Xinyou grinned, “You actually have friends?”
“What are you saying! My friends are everywhere, you’d be shocked if I told you!” He Tian rolled his eyes.
“Oh, please! You’d die if you stopped bragging for a second. You just love to boast!” Wang Xinyou said dismissively.
“Hahaha, that trick doesn’t work on me! No matter how you try, I won’t fall for it!” He Tian laughed, amused by her attempt at playful provocation.
Honestly... she was really overestimating herself!
“Fine, I don’t care anyway!” Wang Xinyou turned away with a pout.
After a while, she seemed to remember something, looking at He Tian and asking, “Is it a man or a woman?”
“What do you mean?” He Tian asked, puzzled.
“I’m asking about the person you’re picking up—is it a man or a woman?” Wang Xinyou sighed, “Don’t pretend you don’t understand!”
“Why do you care?” He Tian teased, smiling.
“I’m just bored, can’t I ask?” Wang Xinyou insisted, “Answer me already!”
“You’ll find out when you see her,” He Tian enjoyed teasing Wang Xinyou—it was amusing.
“Oh, please! You’d die if you stopped being mysterious for a second!” Wang Xinyou grumbled, “I hate that about you!”
“Alright, since you look so pitiful, I’ll tell you—it’s a woman!” He Tian added, “And she’s a real beauty.”
“A woman? What’s your relationship with her? Why’s she coming to Tianhai?” Wang Xinyou’s heart skipped a beat, and she quickly pressed for details.
Ouyang Bingbing liked He Tian, and that alone was driving Wang Xinyou crazy, leaving her unsure how to handle it.
Now, with another woman coming, Wang Xinyou’s sense of crisis skyrocketed.
“Hahaha!” He Tian burst out laughing at her reaction.
“What are you laughing at? You’re so annoying!” Wang Xinyou’s cheeks took on a rare blush.
“Don’t tell me you’re actually jealous?” He Tian teased, winking.
“Jealous? Please! Your imagination is something else. And let me repeat—there’s no way I’d fall for you!” Wang Xinyou said with disdain.
He Tian shook his head, amused.
Wang Xinyou grew more irritated.
He Tian was infuriating—always teasing her, never taking the initiative. Idiot! Big idiot! Is he even a man?
Fine, Wang Xinyou had to admit, in just a few days, she was already deeply entangled.
But so much had happened—she couldn’t stop He Tian from barging into her inner world.
Well... truthfully, she’d opened the door to her heart herself. But she’d never admit that! One must be reserved!
Even if Wang Xinyou seemed tough and fearless at times, she was still a woman, and a little reserve was necessary.
So, she stayed silent for the rest of the ride.
When they arrived, He Tian got out, but Wang Xinyou didn’t.
“My Second Miss, get out of the car!” He Tian wasn’t about to leave her alone while he went to find their guest.
He Tian never forgot that Wang Xinyou was constantly at risk.
“I’m not getting out!” Wang Xinyou insisted.
“If you don’t, I’ll carry you out! Look, there are so many people around,” He Tian threatened.
“You wouldn’t dare!” Wang Xinyou glared at him, annoyed.
“Why wouldn’t I?” He Tian laughed dismissively, reaching out to pick her up.
Wang Xinyou shrank away, seeing He Tian relentless, finally gave in, “I’ll get out! Just move away!”
“That’s better!” He Tian stood up, smiling.
“You’re always bullying me!” Wang Xinyou said pitifully, “Stupid He Tian!”
He Tian felt a tingle run through him.
He thought to himself, Oh, come on! Are you complaining or being coy? I can’t take it!
He Tian led Wang Xinyou into the airport hall.
They checked the time, found a place to sit, and waited patiently.
Wang Xinyou knew the plane hadn’t landed yet, so she pulled out her phone to browse online.
He Tian leaned back in his seat, eyes half-closed, scanning his surroundings and staying alert for any sudden danger...
As a bodyguard, one must always be prepared.
