Chapter 126: Emotions Distort Reason
Page 1/3
At the market opening in the morning, He Jiansheng and Meng Yang arrived at the trading room.
A stock price of thirty yuan was absolutely unsatisfactory to He Jiansheng.
In his view, this price simply wouldn’t intimidate He Tian—it was far from perfect.
“Keep pushing the price higher! Place more buy orders at better prices!” He Jiansheng waved his arms with great momentum as he commanded.
With the massive backing of 2.5 billion yuan, He Jiansheng was confident, and so were the traders under his command.
In fact, these traders found He Jiansheng’s demands quite straightforward.
Under his orders, more and better-priced buy orders flooded the market. Right at opening, the stock price of Qiyuan Grand Hotel soared.
In just over ten minutes, without any shares being sold to meet the orders, Qiyuan Grand Hotel’s stock price rose from yesterday’s closing price of thirty yuan to thirty-two yuan.
Such a rapid and significant increase was nothing short of phenomenal.
“Yang, did you see that? He Tian wants to forcibly acquire our shares, but it’s going to cost him dearly! Haha!” He Jiansheng laughed heartily, his smile brimming with pride.
He intended to use the forced acquisition notice sent by He Tian as a weapon against him.
He Jiansheng was eager to witness He Tian’s expression after realizing he had shot himself in the foot.
He had rehearsed this scenario countless times in his mind, each time more thrilling than the last, filling him with genuine excitement.
“Sir, there’s no way Hetian isn’t aware of our moves! Why hasn’t he reacted at all?” Meng Yang was still troubled by yesterday’s worries.
“Don’t worry, Yang. With our strong counterattack, He Tian is now at a loss—that’s exactly how it should be,” He Jiansheng said dismissively.
Meng Yang remained uneasy but couldn’t pinpoint the source of his anxiety.
Seeing He Jiansheng so spirited, he chose to drop the subject for the moment.
Still, he couldn’t stop wondering where the real problem lay.
Meanwhile, Ouyang Bingbing and Zhang Shuai’s group were also monitoring the fluctuations in Qiyuan Grand Hotel’s stock price.
“We won’t make a move this morning. In the afternoon, we’ll observe their reaction and then decide our next step,” Ouyang Bingbing said solemnly.
“Hahaha, good! We shouldn’t act now!” He Tian happened to overhear Ouyang Bingbing’s words.
The final showdown was approaching.
With nothing pressing at hand, He Tian came to the trading room to check the situation.
“He Tian!” Ouyang Bingbing’s eyes brightened when she heard his voice, and she turned to greet him with a sweet smile.
Zhang Shuai, however, frowned slightly.
Zhang Shuai admired Ouyang Bingbing and had been carefully and attentively observing her. He noticed the subtle changes in her expression upon seeing He Tian.
Though still single, Zhang Shuai was no novice in matters of the heart.
He quickly concluded that Ouyang Bingbing liked He Tian.
This realization pained Zhang Shuai deeply.
He felt utterly defeated because compared to He Tian, he seemed incomparable in every way.
Whether in looks or wealth, Zhang Shuai was not on the same level as He Tian.
“How’s everything?” He Tian asked with a slight smile, nodding politely to the traders around him.
“All normal. If things stay stable like this, tomorrow will be our real battlefield,” Ouyang Bingbing replied with a smile. The past few days had brought significant changes in her.

“The more relaxed you are, the greater our chance of victory. That’s a good sign,” He Tian said cheerfully.
“That’s true. But by remaining so inactive, won’t we raise He Jiansheng’s suspicions? After all, anything too unusual will surely make them think!” Ouyang Bingbing considered the problem from He Jiansheng’s perspective, inevitably worrying about He Tian’s potential share sell-off.
“Hmph… His shares won’t even reach fifty percent until tomorrow. By then, it will be too late to halt the forced acquisition,” He Tian said with a smile, though it carried a slight chill.
Zhang Shuai sat quietly at his seat, staring at his computer screen.
Yet, the many stock price curves on the screen barely caught his attention.
His focus was on He Tian and Ouyang Bingbing, who were chatting nearby.
Especially observing their laughter and ease together, contrasting sharply with Ouyang Bingbing’s attitude toward him—it made Zhang Shuai feel deeply uncomfortable.
A fierce emotion quietly surged within him.
“I’m going out for some fresh air. There’s nothing to do right now,” Zhang Shuai said nonchalantly to those around him.
Ouyang Bingbing wanted to stop him—leaving during work hours was forbidden.
But He Tian stopped her.
Zhang Shuai left the trading room smoothly.
He exited the building and stepped onto the busy street.
Looking at the bustling city traffic, Zhang Shuai felt no joy this time, unlike usual when he thrived in such a metropolis. Instead, he was unusually irritable.
His mind was flooded with images of He Tian and Ouyang Bingbing whispering and laughing together.
It was like a razor-sharp knife stabbing deeply into his heart, twisting mercilessly, causing unbearable pain.
Though Ouyang Bingbing showed no interest in him, Zhang Shuai ignored that fact in his emotional turmoil.
In his mind, if not for He Tian, Ouyang Bingbing would have been his by now.
Of course, Zhang Shuai had no way to make He Tian disappear—murder was unthinkable; he was a normal person.
But if he could make He Tian fail, lose his aura, perhaps Ouyang Bingbing would change her mind.
Indeed, emotions are a force that can rob anyone of rational thought.
Now, Zhang Shuai was completely overwhelmed and controlled by his narrow feelings.
His phone had been confiscated, so he couldn’t contact He Jiansheng directly.
He didn’t have He Jiansheng’s number, so he planned to start looking for it through other contacts.
Just as Zhang Shuai began to act, a stranger stepped in front of him.
“Mr. Zhang, what are you trying to do? Looking for He Jiansheng’s number? I have it… but it’ll cost you one million,” said the man—a truly ugly fellow.
Despite his appearance, his words caught Zhang Shuai’s attention.
But his expression quickly changed.
How could this stranger know his name, his job, and what he intended to do?
Fear surged within Zhang Shuai as he stared at the unattractive man.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” Zhang Shuai said coldly.

“Mr. Zhang, I suggest you return to the trading room. I can pretend I know nothing. But if you don’t cooperate, you must understand that going against your employer’s wishes will ruin everything for you,” the ugly man said.
How could He Tian really ignore the trading room?
After all, Ouyang Bingbing was a complete rookie.
Absolute control over the trading room could never be guaranteed.
And He Tian’s current strategy depended on not leaking any information to He Jiansheng; otherwise, his entire plan would fail.
Therefore, He Tian had people secretly monitoring everything.
He even knew about Zhang Shuai’s pursuit of Ouyang Bingbing.
He Tian was furious.
Although he hadn’t yet crossed the line to decisively win Ouyang Bingbing’s heart, he was a man with an iron grip on control.
He had already claimed Ouyang Bingbing as his woman. How could he allow anyone else to lay a finger on her?
However, since Ouyang Bingbing hadn’t openly clarified their relationship, He Tian couldn’t openly object to others’ pursuits.
So, he decided to come today and provoke Zhang Shuai.
He wanted to see how Zhang Shuai’s feelings for Ouyang Bingbing stood under pressure.
He hadn’t expected Zhang Shuai to choose this path.
Fortunately, the ugly man was watching closely; had Zhang Shuai managed to relay information, it would have been a serious problem.
If He Jiansheng had two days to respond, He Tian’s chance of winning would diminish greatly.
Zhang Shuai’s face turned ashen.
He hadn’t expected everything to be under someone else’s watchful eye.
His heart filled with bitterness.
Only now did he regain some clarity and realize He Tian’s power and vast resources. How could he have been so blind?
Calming down, Zhang Shuai was inwardly shocked at his own earlier recklessness.
“Mr. Zhang, nothing has happened yet, right? Just focus on your duties, and the final reward will still be yours. But… it’s best not to pursue Miss Ouyang anymore, or you’ll have a bad ending,” the ugly man said with a faint smile.
The man felt strange himself.
Here he was, a martial artist at inner power level five, assisting He Tian in chasing a girl—it was somewhat unsettling.
“I… I understand. Thank you, Boss He, for giving me another chance,” Zhang Shuai said softly, bowing his head.
“Let’s go back,” the ugly man said with a faint smile.
When Zhang Shuai returned to the trading room, everyone was busy watching the market fluctuations, including Ouyang Bingbing.
He Tian, however, was already gone.
Zhang Shuai breathed a secret sigh of relief.
He glanced at Ouyang Bingbing, then composed himself, quietly pushing away his feelings for her and dedicating himself fully to his work.
