Chapter 56: Valley of Death
After listening to the account given by Wu Gu, Mu Changge remained silent for a moment before slowly speaking, "Since you are willing to entrust your fate to Emperor Zhuanxu, I am hardly a demon. I will help you kill the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan."
Wu Gu, the Goddess of Lingshan, and the Wu clan members present immediately touched their foreheads to the ground and expressed their profound gratitude in loud unison.
"Thank you, Lord Changge, for your divine intervention!" x...
Mu Changge looked at Wu Gu. "Goddess of Lingshan, since you were able to locate me through divination, you likely have a way to track down Demon Emperor Wu Shisan as well, do you not?"
"Replying to Lord Changge! The Demon Emperor Wu Shisan seized the primordial treasure of the Wu clan, the Cosmos Jade, at Lingshan, and he has used it to mask the heavenly secrets and conceal his presence. However, my vital blood once soaked the Cosmos Jade, and every time the Demon Emperor uses it, I am able to sense his general direction."
"Very well, then lead me to the location you last sensed."
"Understood! However, Lord Changge, this Demon Emperor Wu Shisan is cunning and treacherous; finding him may not be so simple."
"No matter, I have my own countermeasures."
---
Mu Changge brought the Goddess of Lingshan, Wu Gu, along with the gathered Wu clan members, to the Sea of Guixu.
"Lord Changge, the location last sensed by your humble servant is right here."
Mu Changge let out a cold laugh. "This Demon Emperor Wu Shisan is truly cautious."
Mu Changge surmised that the Demon Emperor must have used the Cosmos Jade here before departing immediately, perhaps making several detours along the way.
Unfortunately, Mu Changge could freely examine the past, rendering the Demon Emperor's little tricks as trivial as child's play before him.
Mu Changge immediately peered into the past of this realm and quickly located the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan.
Having locked onto Wu Changge's target, he tracked the exact destination toward which the Demon Emperor was heading.
Finally, Mu Changge's gaze rested upon the Valley of Death—the Valley of Death located in the region of Shu.
The Valley of Death in Shu, much like the Sea of Stars, was long regarded by the ancients as an uninhabitable wasteland.
In later times, human civilization classified the Valley of Death in Shu as one of the five great death valleys of the Blue Planet, with explorers referring to it as the "Latitude of Death."
Having confirmed that the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan was currently hiding within the Valley of Death, Mu Changge immediately surveyed the situation surrounding him.
The Demon Emperor was accompanied by several great demons, thousands of lesser demons, and a newly born rabbit demon.
Mu Changge shifted his gaze to this entirely black little rabbit demon. To be kept by the Demon Emperor's side, it was bound to be extraordinary.
Sure enough, Mu Changge perceived a destiny tied to this little black rabbit demon; it was destined to become a female demon empress of the demon race in the future.
Withdrawing his gaze, Mu Changge addressed the Goddess of Lingshan, Wu Gu, and the Wu clan members present, "I am going to take you to see the corpse of the Demon Emperor. Are you all prepared?"
"Yes!" x...
Hearing the neat and uniform response, Mu Changge transported the Goddess of Lingshan, Wu Gu, and the members of the Wu clan directly to the Valley of Death, right beside the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan.
The Demon Emperor Wu Shisan was in the midst of consuming young boys and girls captured by his subordinates when, suddenly, before he could even react, two flashes of silver light directly gouged out his demon heart.
At the exact same time, the Demon Emperor realized that a remarkably handsome youth and a group of Wu clan members had somehow appeared before him.
The great demons and lesser demons present were utterly stunned. They watched as Mu Changge and the crowd of Wu clan members materialized out of nowhere, while simultaneously, the Demon Emperor's heart was extracted by two flying blades. Both events happened in the very same split second, leaving them completely unable to process what was occurring.
"Ah!!!" The Demon Emperor Wu Shisan cried out in agonizing pain as his demonic energy rapidly withered away.
Mu Changge pinched the Demon Emperor's heart from afar and said indifferently, "Nothing special, really."
With that, countless flashes of silver light erupted from his body. In the single instant those rays flew forth, the heads of every single great demon and thousands of lesser demons following Wu Shisan spontaneously detached from their bodies, and their demon souls were instantly annihilated.
To Mu Changge, who had now ascended as the Heavenly Emperor, whether it was the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan, the great demons, or the lesser demons, there was no difference whatsoever. The only reason he had not instantly eradicated the Demon Emperor straight away was simply to observe his past.
Mu Changge instantly reviewed the entirety of the Demon Emperor's past life, remarking calmly, "So that's how it is. The Beast of the End came during the era when dinosaurs ruled the Primordial Ancestral Star."
"And the heaven and earth of the Primordial Ancestral Star were actually shattered once before. No wonder the Primordial Ancestral Star learned its lesson."
"Still, I never expected to lay eyes on a descendant of dinosaurs, and a dinosaur-human at that."
"What a pity, the dinosaur-humans ultimately failed to become the protagonists of the Primordial Ancestral Star."
The dying Demon Emperor Wu Shisan heard Mu Changge's murmurs and instantly regained a degree of clarity.
He could confirm with absolute certainty that the youth before him was undoubtedly a Heavenly Emperor—and a Heavenly Emperor who had remained hidden all this time.
The expression of the Demon Emperor twisted into one of madness. "Hahaha!!!"
"To think that I, the Emperor, would actually die in a place like this!"
Wu Shisan understood that he could not possibly survive. This youthful Heavenly Emperor before him possessed terrifyingly bizarre methods; he had no intelligence regarding the opponent whatsoever, nor had he even reacted to how his demon heart was removed. Yet this young Heavenly Emperor, whom he was meeting for the very first time, had effortlessly seen right through him, exposing him as if he possessed no secrets at all.
A voice in the Demon Emperor's mind told him that if the Heavenly Emperor before him wished him dead, escape was an absolute impossibility.
Realizing that survival was entirely out of the question, Wu Shisan mustered his final strength, desiring to lay a curse upon the world itself.
"I! The Demon Emperor Wu Shisan! I curse—"
Before he could finish, Mu Changge decapitated him, obliterating his demon soul along with his physical body.
Mu Changge looked back at the Goddess of Lingshan, Wu Gu, and the Wu clan members, saying, "I know you are all sensible people. I hardly need to teach you what must be done next, do I?"
The Goddess of Lingshan and the Wu clan members immediately swore an oath to the heavens and earth, guaranteeing that today's events would never leak out.
Mu Changge nodded with satisfaction. Then, glancing at the still-warm corpse of the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan, he thought to himself, I'm hardly a fool; how could I possibly let you finish your dying words? Any idiot could guess what you were about to say next.
Drawing upon his extensive experience from reading web novels, Mu Changge proceeded to exterminate every single mosquito in the Demon Emperor's dwelling, scrambled every unhatched egg in the vicinity, and even split every earthworm in the soil straight down the middle lengthwise.
Having finished, Mu Changge gathered up the corpse of the Demon Emperor Wu Shisan and told the Goddess of Lingshan and the Wu clan, "As for the corpses of those great and lesser demons, I leave them to you. Dig out the demon cores if they have them, or take whatever body parts catch your fancy."
"Understood!" x...
Once the Goddess of Lingshan and the Wu clan members dispersed, Mu Changge set off to find the little black rabbit demon—he had deliberately spared it just moments before.
