Chapter 53: God Takes a Consort
When the Jade Emperor, Haotian, ordered the southern deity Zhu Rong, accompanied by the eastern deity Gmang, the western deity Rushou, and the northern deity Xuanming, to suppress and eliminate the demon race across heaven and earth, the various chaotic demon factions that had once run rampant under the Demon Emperor gradually grew peaceful.
The surviving Great Magi of the Wu clan, Wu Li and Wu Luo, intended to seek an audience directly with the southern deity Zhu Rong to provide intelligence to the four directional deities. As long as they could slay the Demon Emperor Wushisan and avenge the vast majority of their fallen Wu clansmen, Wu Li and Wu Luo were willing to risk exposing their hiding place.
However, the Demon Emperor Wushisan had long anticipated that some Great Magi might defect to the southern deity Zhu Rong. He had preemptively ordered his subordinate high-tier demons to set up an ambush in the perimeter outside the operational zone of Zhu Rong.
Consequently, before Wu Li and Wu Luo could reach the presence of the southern deity Zhu Rong, they were discovered by the concealed high-tier demons. Tragically, Wu Li and Wu Luo lost their lives to these ambushers.
Realizing how cunning the Demon Emperor Wushisan was, the last surviving Great Magi of the Wu clan, the Goddess of Mount Ling, Wu Gu, decided to seek alternative means for revenge.
Thus, although the undercurrents of the Huaxia realm remained extremely turbulent, on the surface, everything appeared calm and tranquil due to the southern deity Zhu Rong leading sweeps against the various demon groups.
As all living spirits gradually began to forget the turmoil stirred up by the Demon Emperor Wushisan, the Jade Emperor, Haotian, announced that he would take a princess of the True Dragon clan as his consort.
Haotian specifically bestowed upon this True Dragon princess the title of Heavenly Consort, and constructed an imperial palace for her in Gouchen.
On this occasion, the Jade Emperor once again invited the ancient deities of the Huaxia realm, the various divine beast clans, the Three Sovereigns and Five Emperors of the Fire Cloud Palace, and the Saint Nuwa of the Palace of Goddess Nuwa to attend.

Mount Tian.
Mu Changge named his private residence the Primordial Pavilion.
The entire Primordial Pavilion was solemn, archaic, and unadorned. Although not exceptionally large, it was spacious enough to accommodate a hundred residents. Furthermore, the pavilion was shielded by a grand formation capable of obscuring perception, undetectable to anyone lacking formidable power.
Mu Changge lived alone within the Primordial Pavilion. His daily routines usually consisted of cleaning, tending to divine trees, cultivating exotic flowers and herbs, and occasionally feeding spiritual fish beside the divine spring he had relocated from elsewhere.
In his leisure time, Mu Changge would observe the current happenings in the Huaxia realm, as well as catch glimpses of its future.
Just as Mu Changge was living this idyllic, utopian life, a visitor broke the tranquility.
On this day, while watering the flowers in the garden, Mu Changge sensed someone heading straight toward his Primordial Pavilion.
Lifting his gaze toward the distant visitor, he saw a stunning beauty with an upright posture, graceful and soft as jade, carrying an inherent ethereal aura, flying directly toward his pavilion.

"The Wu clan? Why is the Wu clan coming to see me? To help her exact revenge and kill the Demon Emperor Wushisan?"
Watching the woman of the Wu clan drawing closer, Mu Changge immediately raised his voice to question, "Who dares to disturb my serene cultivation?"
Mu Changge's divine voice rolled outward from Mount Tian, sweeping across heaven and earth, causing the flying Wu clan woman to halt mid-air.
The Wu woman swallowed the fragrant nectar in her throat. Although the divine voice sounded placid, it struck the depths of her soul with a sense of inviolable awe.
She immediately answered with utmost caution, "This humble maiden is a Great Magi of the Wu clan, formerly the Goddess of Mount Ling, Wu Gu."
"If I have disturbed your esteemed cultivation, this maiden deserves a thousand deaths. Yet, I now have a plea to make, and I earnestly beg you to listen."
After a few breaths, the divine voice drifted down from Mount Tian once more: "Very well, enter."
Granted permission, the Goddess of Mount Ling, Wu Gu, flew toward the source of the voice.
Arriving outside the Primordial Pavilion, Wu Gu gazed upon this simple yet extraordinary palace.
Although the resident had merely set up a rudimentary perception-obscuring formation, the palace radiated a heart-shaking might, as if any hostile movement by a visitor would instantly reduce them to ashes.
Wu Gu clenched her delicate fists, massaging her trembling, slender, and exquisite legs, before finally taking a step forward after a few breaths.
Entering the Primordial Pavilion, Wu Gu felt as though she were being guided as she stepped into the garden and beheld Mu Changge standing amidst a hundred flowers.
Reflected in Wu Gu's bright eyes was a handsome youth exuding boundless divine charm. Although the youth kept his majestic aura restrained, the faint wisps of dragon aura leaking from him testified to his extraordinary nature. Staring directly at him for more than three breaths would cause one to perceive oneself reflected within him; one's past, present, and future flashed across the youth's form in an instant, resembling a revolving lantern.
Gazing at the profoundly unusual youth before her, Wu Gu involuntarily gasped, "Heavenly... Heavenly Emperor!"
Hearing the Goddess of Mount Ling address him as the Heavenly Emperor, Mu Changge furrowed his brow slightly. He had not expected that even with such heavy suppression, his identity as the Heavenly Emperor would still be recognized.
Mu Changge did not know that the Goddess of Mount Ling, Wu Gu, frequently communicated with the deities and spirits of heaven and earth, making her acutely sensitive to high-ranking divinities—not to mention that Wu Gu had once encountered the Heavenly Emperor of the human race.
At that moment, the Goddess of Mount Ling found it almost unbelievable. She had never imagined that a true Heavenly Emperor resided in such a place! Furthermore, unlike the human Heavenly Emperor she had previously encountered, who relied primarily on absorbing the power of faith, the youth before her was a genuine Heavenly Emperor of the same tier as Emperor Jun!
Not long ago, the Goddess of Mount Ling had used divination to search the Huaxia realm for any remaining means to slay the Demon Emperor Wushisan, and the divination results had indicated that Mount Tian held the path to breaking the deadlock.
Though the divination had cost Wu Gu several centuries of her lifespan, she felt no regret; to avenge her numerous fallen Wu clansmen, she was ready to risk everything!
Looking at the breathtaking maiden whose beauty could rival descending geese and falling fish, whose skin was like congealed grease, and whose immortal grace was peerless, Mu Changge asked, "Did you find your way to my abode through divination?"
***
Hearing the inquiry, the Goddess of Mount Ling, Wu Gu, snapped back to her senses. Her pristine, translucent jade feet stepped backward, and she immediately dropped to her knees, prostrating herself as she said, "This humble maiden pays her respects to Your Majesty, the Heavenly Emperor!"
"Just as Your Majesty anticipated, this maiden indeed found this place through divination."
"Very well, rise and speak with me."
"This maiden thanks Your Majesty!"
Wu Gu slowly stood up and cautiously looked toward Mu Changge.
"Speak, what is your purpose in coming to see me?"
"May Your Majesty discern the truth: this maiden has come to beg for Your Majesty's assistance in avenging a great blood debt suffered by the Wu clan."
"There is no need to address me as the Heavenly Emperor. My name is Mu Changge."
"Understood! Lord Changge!"
"You wish for me to intervene, to execute the Demon Emperor Wushisan and avenge your Wu clansmen?"
"Yes! This maiden earnestly implores Lord Changge to save the Wu clan!"
With those words, Wu Gu once again dropped to her knees in prostration.
Although Wu Gu did not know where this Heavenly Emperor named Mu Changge had come from, nor why his existence had remained a secret to everyone, the Heavenly Emperor before her was undoubtedly capable of helping her exact fierce vengeance!
Wu Gu was well aware of how formidable the Demon Emperor Wushisan was—he was an entity that even the western deity Rushou and the northern deity Xuanming could not defeat.
Yet, the Heavenly Emperor named Mu Changge standing before her gave her the distinct sensation that the Demon Emperor Wushisan was as insignificant as an ant in his presence.
Such an opportunity was one that the Goddess of Mount Ling would never allow to slip away!
