Temple of Origins.

The secret realm was suddenly blanketed in dark clouds as continuous peals of thunder resonated incessantly. The lightning transformed into countless owls and giant serpents, soaring through the murky skies. Simultaneously, a rain of olive branches fell from above, each leaf shimmering with light. The divine essence within the secret realm intensified, and the earth trembled, as if a powerful existence were about to descend.

The Primordial Mother Nuwa and Mu Changge stood outside the temple, observing the phenomena triggered by Athena. Suddenly, the clouds and thunder dissipated, the olive branches vanished, and the earth ceased its tremors, replaced by a night sky filled with stars. The stars twinkled, releasing stellar essence that flowed into the Temple of Origins like a celestial river, forming a ladder connecting the ground to the heavens.

Finally, a petite figure appeared upon the celestial river, walking with elegant, perfect steps toward the sky. The stars seemed to crown the maiden, shining incessantly, while the celestial river of stellar essence poured into her body, making her glow with the most brilliant starlight, as if she were a colossal celestial body. When the river had fully merged with her, the maiden opened her arms, as if welcoming something.

The sky was once again overtaken by dark clouds; the thunder and the rain of olive branches returned, and the earth trembled once more. A vortex appeared before the maiden, absorbing the clouds, lightning, and all the olive branches, while glowing earthen spirits leaped from the ground into the vortex.

After a long while, the phenomena ceased. A supreme power erupted from the maiden; in that moment, she crossed the threshold into the Cosmic Tier, advancing from a supreme deity to a top-tier god. Her white hair, once infused with the silvery light of the moon, now shimmered with the starlight of the heavens. Her eyes, formerly like dark onyx, grew even more profound; only the faint light in their depths hinted at her beauty. To gaze directly into them was to be cast into an endless night.

"To think she has reached the height of the Heavenly Emperor, the level of our ancient Chinese gods..." the Primordial Mother Nuwa murmured as she watched the maiden. Mu Changge, hearing this and recalling the astonishing spectacle, felt a sense of longing for the status of Heavenly Emperor.

"My name is Athena!"
"Pallas Athena and Luo Qingxian are both my names!"
"I hereby declare that I have surpassed my father, Zeus, and shall bring a more brilliant, supreme thunder to the heavens!"
"The goddess who knows the heavens, the glorious Athena, shall manifest supreme wisdom to the world!"
"I shall become the gateway connecting space and time, wielding brand-new spatiotemporal authority for the Primordial Ancestral Star!"
"Mount Olympus shall rumble because of its new generation of supreme god. The heavens shall roar in reverence, the earth shall tremble in submission, and the seas shall clamor in agitation."
"I am Athena! The fourth-generation King of the Gods of Olympus! The supreme Heavenly God! The greatest god of Greece!"

In the Greek realm, Mount Olympus was shaking. Uranus, the Sky God and first-generation King of the Gods of Greek mythology, watched in bewilderment as the sacred mountain he ruled rebelled against him. It was not until the next day that the mountain returned to normal. Uranus cursed the unreliability of Mount Olympus.

Temple of Origins.

The Primordial Mother Nuwa looked at the even more divine Athena and said, "The commotion you caused was not small. Fortunately, it was within my secret realm. Had it been in the outside world, Fuxi and the Heavenly Emperors of the human race would have noticed you immediately."

Athena smiled, "Thank you, Primordial Mother, for shielding me."

Mu Changge chimed in, "It is a relief that your figure has not changed."

Athena immediately kicked him before he could react.

Shun was born with double pupils, a sign of royalty. As the leader of the human tribal alliance, Shun illuminated the world with virtue, emphasized filial piety and brotherly love, and vigorously propelled the human race toward civilization. During his reign, the four great evils—Qiongqi, Hundun, Taowu, and Taotie—were purged by the divine generals of the Kunlun Imperial Capital. The Earth Goddess Houtu, the Rain God Jimeng, and the Punishment Goddess Queen Mother of the West led the team to annihilate the four beasts, leaving only the faction of the malevolent god Xiangliu.

The malevolent god Xiangliu was currently gathering the remaining beasts in the west and had recruited the River God Bingyi. Bingyi proved capable, bringing in the Huai Vortex Water God Wuzhiqi to assist. Bingyi, the god of rivers, was a dashing, handsome man who often traveled riding two dragons. He had once attempted to seize the Luo Goddess, only to have his left eye shot out by the heroic archer Zongbu God Yi.

This was the reason Bingyi was willing to cooperate with Xiangliu—to vent his spite!

Wuzhiqi, a water monster born from the essence of the Huai River bathed in the light of the sun and moon during the reign of Yao, was the first great supernatural creature of the Chinese realm. Later renowned demons of the Chinese world all honored Wuzhiqi as their great predecessor. He resembled an ape with a flat nose, a protruding forehead, white hair, a green body, and fiery eyes. With a neck a hundred feet long and boundless strength, he was a divinely gifted monkey. Wuzhiqi made his home in the Huai River, proclaimed himself the Huai Vortex Water God, built a dragon palace, and took a dragon maiden as his wife. His influence spanned the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow and Yangtze Rivers, commanding hundreds of thousands of mountain and water spirits. Even the River God Bingyi had to treat Wuzhiqi with respect, becoming his ally in stirring up chaos.

Gonggong was satisfied with the progress of Xiangliu's actions. Having recovered from his injuries, he ordered Xiangliu, Bingyi, and Wuzhiqi to unleash a catastrophic flood to plague humanity. Gonggong did not notice that Xiangliu looked at him with increasing fear, as if gazing upon a great horror. Gonggong himself had undergone a complete transformation; even his former colleagues would not be able to recognize him by his appearance. His divine position had vanished, and he was currently evolving into something most terrifying!

To combat the catastrophic flood caused by Xiangliu, Bingyi, and Wuzhiqi, Shun dispatched Gun to control the waters. Gun's method was to block, but it failed due to the overwhelming force of the water. Shun subsequently executed Gun at Yu Mountain and appointed his son, Great Yu, as his successor. Shun could not have foreseen that this act would plant a seed deep within Great Yu's heart, a seed that would eventually grow to end the history of the human race's abdication system.

Taking lessons from his father, Great Yu adopted a method of dredging and sent men to invite the Heavenly Origin Yinglong to defeat Bingyi. After Bingyi was defeated, Great Yu led elite human warriors to slay the malevolent god Xiangliu and all the wicked beasts, requesting the divine generals of the Kunlun Imperial Capital to construct a high platform to suppress Xiangliu's corpse. Finally, Great Yu battled Wuzhiqi at the source of the Huai River. Using the Kui Dragon as his vanguard and supported by human warriors and mountain gods, he engaged in a fierce battle against Wuzhiqi's army of spirits at the foot of Tongbai Mountain.

Because Wuzhiqi possessed vast supernatural powers, Great Yu could not overcome him alone and had to summon the Heavenly Origin Yinglong to capture him. Once captured, Great Yu used chains forged from celestial iron to lock Wuzhiqi's neck and pierced his nostrils with a bell made of dragon-patterned black gold. Thus, Wuzhiqi was suppressed at the foot of Turtle Mountain.

With Wuzhiqi defeated, Great Yu finally succeeded in controlling the floods. The great chaos initiated by the malevolent god Xiangliu for Gonggong thus came to an end.
