Chapter 8: Back in Los Angeles, the progress is too slow!
The plane flew steadily.
Scarlett’s mind was filled with thoughts as she leaned against her seat but could not fall asleep.
She had started acting in films early on, and because of her beauty, she had no shortage of admirers.
Her personality was one of passion and decisiveness; she only wanted to be with those she truly liked.
Often immersed on set, she had experienced a couple of romantic relationships with male actors, all of which eventually ended in breakups.
She never expected that today, Qin Feng would appear as a fan, yet be so captivating.
At the same time,
Qin Feng gazed intently at her back.
His life had been far removed from that of an international star like Scarlett.
But since the appearance of the golden fingertip, the spark in his eyes had returned.
Confident, resolute, and profound.
He truly admired Scarlett Johnson, not only for her beauty but also for her dedication to the craft of acting.
In his previous life, he had watched all of Scarlett’s films.
Perhaps even then, she had occupied a special place in his heart.
Qin Feng did not want to change seats, fearing he might disturb her.
Watching from afar was best.
Both harbored their own thoughts.
At 11 p.m., the plane landed at Los Angeles Airport.
Passengers hurriedly disembarked.
“Did you sleep well?” Qin Feng asked.
“Very well.”
Scarlett had little luggage. After exiting the terminal, Qin Feng hailed a taxi.
“Where are you staying? I’ll take you there first.”
“39 Sunset Boulevard.”
She gave an address.
In the taxi, they exchanged phone numbers and chatted about films.
Qin Feng’s humor often made Scarlett laugh heartily.
“Oh no, Mr. Qin, if you keep this up, my stomach will hurt from laughing!”
“Not bad, just a cold joke.”
“...”
Half an hour later, they reached the destination.
Scarlett gracefully stepped out and waved to him. “It’s been a truly delightful day, Mr. Qin.”
Qin Feng replied, “Please go upstairs first, Miss Scarlett. Let’s keep in touch.”
“Will do. Bye~”

Watching Scarlett ascend, Qin Feng rolled up the taxi window.
The driver, an elderly man, glanced at the rearview mirror. “Sir, your girlfriend is very beautiful.”
“...”
Qin Feng only smiled, eyes fixed outside the window.
...
The next day, at Universal Pictures headquarters.
Under a tense schedule, everyone sprang into action.
Qin Feng entered the conference room.
Kathleen Kennedy studied the shooting schedule, frowning deeply.
“More than four months for pre-production preparations?”
“Three months for filming.”
“Three months for post-production...”
She slammed the schedule onto the table and looked around.
“Dear colleagues, this won’t do. Although this is a visual effects film, time cost is a factor!”
“I’ll be frank: our investment budget caps at 60 million.”
“Every extra day adds to the cost. We must squeeze the schedule!”
“This kind of dinosaur monster sci-fi film is our first attempt; we must be fast!”
“Our cooperation with other VFX companies must be deployed quickly.”
“No matter what, shooting must start by the end of next month!”
Everyone exchanged glances.
This timeline was already the fastest possible.
Moreover, the difficulty of related tasks might increase during actual filming.
Kennedy turned to Spielberg. “Director, what do you think?”
Spielberg frowned as well. “Kennedy, this is likely the quickest possible.”
After a moment, he added, “However, we can engage several companies for mechanical models and CGI effects, though none will be as large as the two we have now.”
Kennedy asked, “Are the actors being cast? Any confirmations?”
“They’re being approached; negotiations are ongoing.”
“How about location scouting?”
“The scouting team has already gone to Hawaii for surveys.”
Someone added, “Studios in China that cooperate with us will prioritize this project.”
“Oh...” She looked at Qin Feng. “When will the paleontologist arrive?”
“Tomorrow.”
She stood up. “Colleagues, this project must be fast, but quality must also be excellent. I hope the film will deliver an unparalleled impact when released!”
“I look forward to that day arriving soon!”
“For the start of filming, I’ll organize a ceremony, inviting several media outlets to build momentum.”
“We’ll promote heavily online; everyone must be mentally prepared.”

“Other details, you handle.”
Kennedy dropped the words and turned to leave.
Once she was gone, Spielberg smiled faintly. “Looks like everyone must speed up.”
“But one thing is true: since we haven’t made a visual effects film in a long time, our industrial process is far from mature.”
“To save time in production, we need more standardization and streamlined workflow.”
“From today on, all departments must adhere to precise schedules, detailed plans, and coordinated division of labor.”
He glanced at the group. “Qin Feng, before shooting starts, would you rather coordinate with pre-production or post-production?”
Qin Feng thought for a moment. “This film has numerous VFX shots. We need very detailed concept designs, storyboards, and animation previews in pre-production. Before filming, everyone on the crew must understand the final effect and workload.”
“So, I plan to go to the pre-production art department.”
“Excellent!” Spielberg smiled. “Your approach is similar to what we used for animation films before. Very good!”
“Os, you’re in charge of the art department. Recently, you must fully cooperate with Director Qin Feng and expedite all designs.”
Os, the art director, was an experienced man with a long beard and also responsible for some animation projects.
“Understood, no problem.” He responded decisively.
...
Back at his desk, Qin Feng fell into deep thought.
He had already seen the finished film and knew the details intimately.
The problem was, no one here had seen it.
They didn’t know how to shoot it or what challenges they might face.
To compress the timetable, he had to convey all the finished shots he had seen to them.
Only then could the goal be reached.
With this in mind, he reserved a large conference room and called Os in the art department.
“Mr. Os, this is Qin Feng. Please bring your team to room B06, thank you.”
Ten minutes later, over thirty people gathered in the conference room.
They were all artists from Universal Pictures, some responsible for original art, others for storyboards, and some for animation.
Os looked around and said to Qin Feng, “Aside from those already assigned, these are all the available hands we have.”
Qin Feng stood in front of the table and nodded slightly.
“Hello, colleagues!”
“I am Qin Feng, assistant director and screenwriter of Jurassic Park.”
“From now on, what I say needs to be recorded by a camera the entire time.”
“Please take notes carefully...”
“I will verbally describe all the storyboards!”
At those words, everyone was stunned!
