Chapter 60 Meeting Captain Barbossa and Visiting Bondi Beach
Chapter 60: Meeting Captain Barbossa and Visiting Bondi Beach
Qin Feng stood up and gestured, saying, "Over here, Mr. Rush."
Geoffrey Rush saw him and walked over with a smile. The two men shook hands.
"You must be Director Qin Feng?"
"Yes, I am. Please have a seat."
Geoffrey Rush sat down, and as a waiter approached, he ordered a cup of coffee.
"Director Qin, I heard you came to Australia to shoot a sci-fi film. How is the progress going?"
"Everything is going well, Mr. Rush. Our crew has already wrapped up shooting."
"That's good to hear. What is the specific matter you wanted to see me about?"
Qin Feng smiled. "Firstly, I just wanted to see you. You are a senior figure in Australian cinema. Secondly, if all goes well, I will be taking on a new film next, and I'd like to invite you to play a role in it. So, today is just an initial chat."
"Oh, really?" Geoffrey Rush grew interested and leaned forward slightly. "What kind of role is it?"
"Well... first of all, it's a villain. Secondly, he is a pirate."
"A pirate?" Geoffrey Rush's eyes lit up. "Could you tell me more about it in detail?"
The final version of the script was not yet completed, but Qin Feng remembered the details very clearly. He began to explain slowly:
"The story is set in the seventeenth century, a time when there were nine pirate lords in the world. You will play Captain Barbossa, one of the nine pirate lords, known as the Lord of the Caspian Sea. On one hand, Barbossa is sinister and cunning, stopping at nothing to achieve his goals; on the other hand, he also possesses a certain witty humor. However, the waters he operated in were far too dismal, so he decided to defect and join the father of the male lead, Jack. A few years later, Jack's father retired to become the Keeper of the Code, and Barbossa subsequently followed Jack, serving as the first mate on the pirate ship *The Black Pearl*. Later on, he mutinied, drove Captain Jack away, and became the captain of *The Black Pearl* himself..."
Qin Feng briefly outlined the character's background.
Geoffrey Rush listened with rapt attention, deeply captivated by this grand and sweeping pirate tale. After Qin Feng finished, he took a sip of his coffee.
"Director Qin, I must say, this is an exceptionally fine script. I feel this character is both formidable and cunning, full of banter and curses—he is truly attractive, and I genuinely like him. By the way, I wonder who you have in mind to play Captain Jack?"
"I am hoping for Mr. Johnny Depp."
"Oh, I know him! He is a very good actor, and he used to work frequently with Director Tim Burton."
Qin Feng smiled. "Today is just a casual chat between us. It will probably still be some time before filming actually begins."
Geoffrey Rush nodded. "Director Qin, I didn't expect you to be so young yet already handling so many major film productions. It's truly remarkable!"
"It's only two films, Mr. Rush. You flatter me."
The two men chatted a little longer about movies before parting ways.
...
The crew returned on a chartered flight as before. Qin Feng wanted to stay behind with Scarlett, so he made up an excuse, saying he needed to meet with some relatives from China and would leave a day later. He arranged all the work properly, leaving Producer Stoff and Loria in charge of leading the group back.
He and Scarlett headed to Bondi Beach.
Located on the eastern coast of Sydney, Bondi Beach is a historic hub for surfing in Australia. The beach is crescent-shaped, with various diverse restaurants, surf shops, and souvenir stores lining the coastal road. Here, there were bright sunshine, white clouds, beautiful sandy beaches, and plenty of young people surfing on the waves.
More importantly, Scarlett was wearing a white bikini today, showcasing her voluptuous curves and incredibly hot figure. It only served to make her skin look even more like polished jade, delicate and appetizing enough to eat.
Qin Feng inwardly clicked his tongue in amazement, turning his head from time to time to admire the view.
Scarlett glanced at him sideways. "What are you staring at blindly? It's not like you've never seen it before."
Qin Feng gave a light cough. "It's just beautiful! A beautiful woman and beautiful scenery. It would be even better if we had some fine wine."
Scarlett pointed in a certain direction. "Aren't they selling drinks over there? We can buy some to drink later."
Qin Feng stared at her figure. "You're right."
Scarlett tossed her blonde hair. "Qin, I want to go swimming. Keep me company."
"Huh?" The corner of Qin Feng's twitched. "Swimming... well... did I ever tell you? Actually, I'm a total brick in the water."
Scarlett blinked, a smile playing at the corners of her mouth. "No way, Qin. You don't know how to swim?"
Qin Feng nodded with a harmless expression.
She laughed and pointed toward their sun umbrella. "There's a swim ring over there. You can put it on."
Without waiting for Qin Feng any longer, she took a few light jogs and plunged into the sea to swim.
Qin Feng sighed, walked over, picked up the swim ring, and got into the water. After half an hour, feeling it was rather pointless, he climbed back ashore, bought some beer and soft drinks, and lay down on a lounge chair to enjoy the scenery. To be fair, there were beautiful women everywhere, which was quite pleasing to the eye.
Before long, Scarlett came ashore as well.
"What's the matter, Qin? You're not swimming anymore?" She sat down, her hair already wet, gave it a shake, and picked up a towel.
"It's too tiring. I'm better suited to watching you guys swim."
Scarlett leaned in close, looking down at him with wet strands of hair brushing against his face. "Hey handsome, you've been working way too hard lately. We came here today to relax."
Her fragrance was intoxicating. Qin Feng took a deep breath and smiled faintly, "I'm already very relaxed."
"Don't worry, I know how to adjust my state of mind."
"Mm." Scarlett lay down on the adjacent lounge chair and opened a bottle of beverage.
"Scarlett," Qin Feng asked, "what was the name of that movie you filmed? When is it going to be released?"
Scarlett playfully pinched his cheek. "Qin! Look at you—you don't even know what movie I'm shooting. Sometimes I really wonder if you even care about me!"
"I care, tremendously. Just tell me first."
She let out a soft huff of mock annoyance. "It's called *He's Just Not That Into You*. It's a romance film."
"Oh." A romance film? What was so interesting about that... "It'll probably be released soon, right? Movies like that don't need heavy post-production special effects, so they come together fast."
Qin Feng nodded. "Alright, when it's released, I'll go watch it with you."
Scarlett sipped her drink. "Speaking of which, the male lead in this film is also a very handsome guy. Do you want to know who it is?"
"Wh-who?"
"It's Ben Affleck."
"Oh?"
Ben Affleck was a well-known Hollywood actor with a tall and handsome image, affectionately called "Big Ben" by fans who loved him. If he could get to know him, maybe there would be a chance for collaboration in the future.
Thinking of this, he rolled over. "Of course I know him. Scarlett, you must have his contact information, right? Introduce us if you get the chance."
Scarlett rolled over as well, facing him with a serious expression. "Qin, you aren't thinking about work and filming again, are you? Be good! We're here on vacation, don't keep thinking about work all the time."
"Hehe... occupational hazard... Alright, alright, introduce us when your movie comes out, then."
Scarlett pouted. "Qin, you're great at everything else, you're just a bit of a workaholic."
