Chapter 41: Su He in Captivity, Part Two

Back in the house, Naya looked at Su He, who was sprawled across the bed like a dead pig.
“Brother Xiaohe, why do you want to leave so badly? Is the forest really such a bad place?”
“Well, people can’t stay in one place their whole lives. You have to go out and see the world.”
“So, Naya, if you ever get the chance, you should go out and take a look too. Don’t stay in the forest forever.”
Naya did not answer. Instead, she silently thought to herself, “Heh. The outside world? I don’t want to go anywhere. All I want is you. I only want to stay here in the forest with you forever.”
She rose and walked out, but stopped at the doorway and glanced back at Su He.
“Brother Xiaohe, I won’t be coming back tonight. You should enjoy this last peaceful night while you can.”
With that, she ignored the bewildered Su He on the bed and left.
“What the heck? Sorry, I don’t understand a word of that, memeda~”
Su He could sense how reluctant Naya was to part with him. Truthfully, he did not want to leave so soon either. He had wanted to wait for Big Bear and Little Bear to come to the Fantasy Forest on their own, then return with them once the story had progressed.
But who could say when the story would begin? Just like the last Treasure Hunters Bear, which had arrived without anyone noticing. What if the story of the Fantasy Realm still needed another year before it started? That was why he still had to leave first and reunite with Big Bear and Little Bear, then come back once the story reached that point.
Before long, he had packed some luggage for the next day’s journey. When he saw that the sun had already set outside the window, he went out to look for Naya. He felt that she was angry with him today, perhaps because of his sudden departure.
“Naya, where are you? Naya!”
“Damn, it really isn’t easy to find someone in a forest this huge.”
Su He searched every corner of the forest in exasperation, and eventually ran into that big green-haired dog.
“Hey, lapdog, have you seen where your master went?”
The green-haired dog stuck out its tongue and tilted its head as if deep in thought. At last, it looked toward the depths of the forest to Su He’s right.
“Thanks. By the way, you should get that green fur trimmed when you have the time. You look like someone cheated on you. Poor thing.”
“Awwooo.” —You’d better have nothing happen to you.
After Su He crossed the forest to the right, he found himself standing before a waterfall. A bone-chilling cold radiated from the rushing water.
“That lapdog couldn’t have lied to me, could he? This water is freezing. How could Naya possibly be here? No wonder someone cheated on him.”
“Still, I might as well take a proper bath before I leave.”
As he spoke, he stripped off his clothes and stepped barefoot into the water.

If an ordinary person stayed in that water, they would catch a cold within two or three minutes. Yet Su He found it incredibly comfortable. In the end, he even swam deep into the water, completely unaware that a pair of eyes was watching him from below.
“Damn, it’s been ages since I’ve enjoyed a swim this much.”
Floating in the water, Su He gazed at the ceaseless waterfall overhead and could not resist reciting a poem.
“Waterfalls plunge three thousand feet, as though the Milky Way were falling—damn!”
At that moment, he felt something seize his ankle and pull him toward the depths.
“Glug, glug…”
The shock forced all the air from his lungs, and he inhaled a mouthful of water. Before he could react, a gentle embrace wrapped around him. Something soft pressed against his lips, continuously supplying him with air.
But if it was only supplying him with air, why did something soft suddenly slip inside afterward?
The unexpected assault left Su He too stunned to resist. He did not recover until the other party bit his tongue.
He shoved the figure away with all his strength and swam toward the surface. The thing behind him tried to chase after him and seize him again, but Su He released a burst of spiritual energy that sent it flying back.
When he reached the surface, he did not even have time to breathe the fresh air. He scrambled onto the shore and cried out, still shaken.
“W-what the hell was that? A snake? No, that can’t be. How would a snake know how to kiss? Could it have been a water ghost?”
By then, the sky had already fallen dark. Under the moonlight, the surface of the water glittered, but he could not make out the unknown creature below.
“Mommy! There’s a ghost!”
The more he thought about it, the more terrifying it became. In the end, Su He ran screaming all the way home.
Not long after he left, an exquisitely beautiful figure rose from the water. Her face was flushed with embarrassment as she murmured to herself,
“Brother Xiaohe, you knew Naya had been holding it in for two days, so you came right to me yourself, didn’t you? I knew there was still a place for me in your heart.”
After returning home, Su He locked every door and window before burrowing beneath the blankets. His entire body trembled uncontrollably.
“Damn it! There are ghosts in Boonie Bears, and it’s even a perverted ghost! It stole my first kiss! Waaaah!”
The more aggrieved he felt, the harder he cried.
“My first kiss after being single for twenty years in my previous life! I’d imagined giving it to someone ugly or beautiful, but I never thought it would end up belonging to a ghost!”
“Waaaah…”
“Snore…”
He had not been crying for long before, sometime after midnight, he fell asleep without a thought in his head and began to snore.

The next day, beneath the bright sunlight, Su He shouldered his backpack and prepared to leave this place of heartbreak.
“Brother Xiaohe.”
A familiar voice reached him. When he looked up, he found Naya standing in front of him. His heart lifted slightly at the sight of her.
“Naya, you’re here. I thought I wouldn’t get to see you before I left.”
“Brother Xiaohe, I’ll ask you one last time. Are you certain you want to leave the forest?”
“Naya, are you reluctant to let me go? It’s all right. I’ll come back someday. Come on, give me a hug before I leave.”
With that, he opened his arms and embraced Naya. Yet her expression did not change in the slightest. She simply repeated the same question.
“Are you certain you want to leave the forest?”
“Of course. Didn’t we agree on this yesterday?”
Su He was beginning to feel completely lost.
“Very well. Then go.”
“Mm. Don’t worry, Naya. I’ll come back to visit you someday.”
He adjusted the pack on his shoulder and started walking away. Then a voice came from behind him.
“Wait, Brother Xiaohe.”
Thinking that Naya still had something to say, he turned around. At once, something scorching hot pressed against his forehead—something so intensely hot that it drove him to the verge of suffocation.
“Aaaah!”
Su He collapsed to the ground, screaming helplessly.
Naya sat beside him, continuing to press the Molten Crystal Stone against his forehead.
“Brother Xiaohe, I’m sorry for making you suffer so much. But who told you to be so disobedient and insist on leaving?”
“You can’t leave the forest. And you certainly can’t leave me. From now on, stay obediently by my side.”
