Chapter 30: The Battle Against the M Group

"Here we go."

Vick, charging down the slope with Su He and Dudu, leapt into the air. He pressed the switch to activate the propellers, and the two began pedaling the aircraft, steadily rising toward the sky.

Seeing Vick succeed, Briar turned to Bramble. "Bramble, Vick and the others have started. Let's go too."

He pulled out a massive paraglider, secured his grip, and jumped from the slope, soaring into the sky to follow behind Vick and Su He.

"Vick, we're coming too!"

Watching the two bears fluttering above him, Vick accelerated, using the airflow from his propellers to blow them aside.

"Briar, Bramble, do you see how formidable I am now? Let's see if you dare mock me again!"

Bramble, sent spinning, lost his balance, but Briar shouted calmly, "Bramble, we need to balance ourselves! Don't let Vick get the better of us!"

Regaining their composure, the two bears caught up to Vick and Su He.

"Vick, stop right there!"

"If you have the guts, come and catch me, you two!" With that, Vick darted into the forest, weaving between the trees.

Behind him, Su He closed his eyes, enjoying the oncoming wind. He leaned back in his seat, slowly extended a hand, and gave the two bears a middle finger.

"Ugh, that makes me so mad! Briar, let's catch them!"

Just as Vick zipped through two large trees and headed back toward the sky, the two bears, hindered by their girth, found themselves wedged between the trunks.

"Briar, I think I'm stuck."

"Sigh, it looks like we'll have to use the car."

High in the sky, Su He and Vick admired the snowy white clouds. In the front, little Dudu mistook the clouds for cotton candy, reaching out to grab them and stuff them into her mouth.

Watching the innocent Dudu, Su He felt a pang of sadness. He wondered how long it would be before he could see her again once the story of "Boonie Bears: To the Rescue" concluded.

As if sensing his thoughts, a massive silhouette emerged from the clouds—an airship. Inside, the mastermind behind the operation watched the trio on his display screen and waved at his subordinates.

"Go bring the little one back to me. Remember, do not hurt Dudu."

"Yes, sir."

A dozen men equipped with flight gear descended from the airship, tailing Vick.

Noticing them, Su He warned Vick, "Vick, look behind us. There are people following us, and they're armed. Are they after Dudu?"

"What?" Vick turned around, startled by the approaching figures. Before he could react, one of the men accelerated, grabbed the propeller of Vick’s aircraft, and tried to force it to a halt.

Su He stood up, channeling his spiritual power into his limbs. He grabbed the man’s ankle, yanked him off, and hurled him at the others. Another masked man tried to seize the opportunity to grab Dudu, but Su He wouldn't let him succeed.

Leaping from the aircraft, Su He grabbed the masked man, knocked him unconscious with a single punch, and ripped the gatling gun from his flight device. Using the masked man as a stepping stone, he jumped back onto Vick’s craft, aiming the gatling gun at the pursuing men and opening fire.

In the airship, the leader of the M Group saw this and, with a smirk reminiscent of a classic villain, muttered, "Oh? This kid is quite the fighter. Send everyone out, each armed with a weapon. Let's see if he can take them all down."

"Yes, boss."

Su He dispatched the pursuers, though he was careful not to kill them. This was a lawful society, and he didn't want the world of Boonie Bears to turn bloody; he simply shot their flight gear to pieces.

"Vick, let's get back to the ground quickly. It’s getting too dangerous."

"Right. But Su He, why aren't you using your powers on them?"

Su He was surprised. "Vick, you know about my powers?"

"Of course! Didn't you tell us last winter?"

"Then, Vick... do you remember Tuanzi?"

"Tuanzi? Who's that? A friend of yours?"

"Oh, never mind. I remembered wrong." Su He realized that Tuanzi must have retained her memories of him and Bramble but erased the memories of her from the bears. It was just as well; it saved him from having to explain later.

Vick steered the aircraft into the forest, but before he could land, he stared in shock at the sky. It was filled with armed men, surrounding them from every direction.

"Su He, what do we do now? It looks like we're trapped."

"Vick, don't panic. I'll create a breakthrough for you. Take Dudu and find Briar and Bramble immediately."

"Got it."

As the standoff reached a breaking point, Su He opened fire with the gatling gun, forcing the men to scatter. Taking advantage of the chaos, he grabbed Vick by the collar and flung him to safety.

Seeing Vick escape, Su He finally relaxed. He put on a look of resignation, slowly tossed the gatling gun aside, and raised his hands in surrender.

*To hell with it, this is a joke,* he thought. *With this many weapons aimed at me, even if I could win with my powers, exposing them in public would be a death sentence. The plot has to move forward anyway—might as well just lie down and take it.*

Meanwhile, Vick, holding Dudu, found Briar and Bramble.

"Vick, get in the car with Dudu quickly! It’s dangerous if they catch up!"

Bramble asked anxiously, "Vick, where’s Su He? Didn't he come with you?"

At the mention of Su He, Vick was filled with remorse. "He stayed behind to hold off those villains to protect us."

"It's not your fault, Vick. We'll get Dudu to safety and then come back for him. Besides, you know how capable Su He is."

Briar sped off, driving Vick and Dudu toward safety. Suddenly, a loud boom erupted from the back of the car. Vick looked back to see the masked men bombing their vehicle.

"Bramble!" Briar shouted. "There are fireworks in the trunk! Use them to blast those guys!"

"Leave it to me!"

Bramble immediately lit a firework and fired it back at their pursuers.
