Chapter 30: So, you do realize you've ruined my plans?

There were plenty of people across the country making a living from selling burial grounds, and this kind of business was usually highly regional.
But once it was made into a film, it would no longer be limited by geography. It could simply introduce these auspicious sites.
Ordinary people could watch it for entertainment, but the target audience would be the wealthy.
One or two million yuan might be an astronomical sum to ordinary people, but to the rich, it was really nothing.
The more Chen Mo thought about it, the more promising the idea seemed.
Why could real estate be advertised? This was real estate too, so why could it not be advertised?
Of course, Chen Mo certainly would not call it advertising. He would say that he was promoting traditional folk beliefs and feng shui.
If it could not be done openly, then he would do it quietly.
His idea, however, left his father completely bewildered. What on earth was he talking about?
A burial property being advertised through a film? It sounded absurd, almost ridiculous.
After all, no one had ever done anything like that before. Still, his father was secretly pleased. His family made its living from this trade, and he knew only too well that outsiders viewed their profession through prejudiced eyes.
In the past, even Chen Mo had looked down on it. He had not even dared tell people what his family did for a living. But now, his attitude had suddenly undergone a complete transformation.
That was what made his father happiest of all. Although he felt that his son’s proposal was somewhat absurd and outrageous, he still agreed.
Before long, his mother returned carrying several bags of groceries, and Chen Mo hurried over to help her.
The whole family enjoyed a warm and harmonious dinner together.
There was no need to rush with *Mr. Vampire*. Chen Mo was far more at home making a film like that than he had been making *Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together*.
Everything would have to wait until the first broadcast of *Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together* had finished, when he could approach several video websites. When selling the online rights to the series, he could also bring up the matter of producing an online feature film.
In his previous life, the fully developed concept of the online feature film would not emerge until 2014. At this stage, such a term did not even exist.
In truth, Chen Mo’s idea was still only a tentative thought. The chaotic era of video websites had not yet come to an end, and the major platforms had not yet unified the market.
But if the plan worked, Chen Mo naturally would not mind being the first to venture into uncharted waters.
Chen Mo had been home only a few days before he was forced to leave again.
*Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together* had become a major hit, and its ratings continued to soar. It now sat firmly at number one nationwide among all satellite channels in the same time slot, and its first broadcast was nearly over.

So Blueberry TV was holding a celebration banquet. Of course, Chen Mo knew that the banquet was only part of the reason. The station was certainly still thinking about a sequel to *Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together*.
Chen Mo had no intention of directing the sequel himself, but the success of the first installment had turned the second into a golden project guaranteed to make money. With the first installment as a foundation, Chen Mo had plenty of options. He did not necessarily have to work with Blueberry TV. The other satellite stations were no fools either. As long as the second installment was not too poor, its ratings would be assured. This time, the initiative was firmly in Chen Mo’s hands.
Chen Mo was also somewhat troubled. The company he had asked Hongjing to register was still only an empty shell, with even its financial affairs handled by an outsourced agency.
He was about to become extremely busy. First, the sequel to *Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together* had to be put on the agenda. Next, he had to sell the series’ online broadcasting rights. Then there was the matter of recruiting employees for the company. Not to mention all the other ideas he had in mind, each of which would require people to bring them to life.
Yet at present, he did not have a single person working for him.
At the celebration banquet, Chen Mo naturally became the center of attention.
There was no need to mention the leading actors. The runaway success of *Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together* had sent both their status and their market value soaring, so they were all deeply grateful to Chen Mo.
Blueberry TV was equally eager to win him over, hoping to secure a role in the sequel, and everyone from the station was consequently remarkably flattering.
Zhao Liying also arrived in full evening dress. The saying that fame could nourish a person was no exaggeration. Although less than a month had passed, she had already begun to develop a charm entirely different from before.
She was starting to show a hint of the air of a future Golden Eagle Goddess. She was not quite there yet, but compared with her former self, she seemed like a completely different person.
“Have you come up with any ideas for the sequel to *Let’s Watch the Meteor Shower Together*?” Zhou Qizhong, Blueberry TV’s representative for the series, had interacted with Chen Mo more than anyone else and was also the closest to him. He soon began probing carefully.
When the other leading actors heard Zhou Qizhong’s question, they all turned toward Chen Mo with eyes full of anticipation.
Chen Mo took a sip of wine and said with a smile, “I have a few ideas, but they are not mature yet. We worked together so happily on this project. Once I have made a decision, you will be the first person I inform.”
Zhou Qizhong was not entirely satisfied with that answer, but he knew this was not the right occasion to continue pressing the matter. He smiled and said, “Then I’ll be waiting for your good news.”
“Certainly.” Chen Mo raised his glass with a smile.
Although this was different from the earlier wrap party, as the central figure of the celebration banquet, Chen Mo was still made to drink quite a lot.
By the time the gathering ended, his steps had begun to drift.
Fortunately, the banquet was being held at the same hotel where Chen Mo and the others were staying.
“I’ll have someone escort you back to your room. Xiaolin!” As the host, Zhou Qizhong naturally felt responsible for making the arrangements.
He casually called over a pretty young woman with a stunning figure. The female host known as Xiaolin heard him, a flicker of delight passing through her eyes, and hurried over with a sway of her hips.
Before Chen Mo could refuse, he suddenly caught a faint, delicate fragrance, and an arm slipped around his.
“Director Zhou, I’ll take Director Chen back,” Zhao Liying said, having reached him first and taken hold of Chen Mo’s arm with a smile.

Zhou Qizhong glanced at the petite and charming Zhao Liying, dressed to the nines and clinging tightly to Chen Mo’s arm. A meaningful smile appeared on his face.
He looked at Chen Mo. Chen Mo turned his head toward Zhao Liying, then nodded and said, “Let Liying take me back. I won’t trouble you, Director Zhou.”
“All right. Liying, I’ll leave Director Chen in your hands.”
“Good night, Director Zhou!”
“Good night!”
Although Chen Mo was somewhat drunk, he was not completely out of it. His mind retained a small measure of clarity.
Walking was another matter. His steps were unsteady, and that made things difficult for Zhao Liying. She was petite and delicately built, and beside Chen Mo, who stood well over six feet tall, she looked almost like a doll.
Worse still, most of his weight was leaning against her. She could only grit her teeth and bear it.
At last, she steeled herself, released his arm, and pulled it around the back of her neck. This allowed Chen Mo to embrace her while she supported his waist with one hand and pushed forward, easing the pressure somewhat.
But half of each of their bodies was now pressed tightly together. Chen Mo’s face rested against her shoulder, and with every breath, his warm exhalation brushed against her ear. Her heart began to race, and her face grew even hotter.
“I didn’t ruin your good time, did I?” Zhao Liying asked irritably as they walked.
Chen Mo lowered his head and glanced sideways at the woman in his arms. “So you know you ruined my good time?”
“Hmph! I try to do something kind, and you treat me like a villain!” Little Zhao snapped angrily.
At last, after Zhao Liying had grown so exhausted that sweat beaded on her forehead and drenched her entire body, they reached the door of Chen Mo’s room.
By then, the alcohol had gone to Chen Mo’s head, and he was even more intoxicated.
He tried several times to get his room card out without success. With a helpless sigh, Zhao Liying reached over and took it for him.
She opened the door, pushed it shut with her foot, and helped him toward the bed. The moment she let go, Chen Mo collapsed onto the mattress, dragging her down with him.
Her entire body landed on top of his.
At that moment, Chen Mo opened his hazy, drunken eyes and saw the beautiful young woman only inches from his face.
“Ah!”
How could Chen Mo possibly hold himself back? He immediately covered her cherry-red lips with his own.
