— Beep!!!
“Liu Yanyan’s revenge progress—3%” the system notification sounded.
Wen Yan stared at the system prompt, her brows slightly furrowed.
“Liu Yanyan’s revenge succeeded?” That was unexpected; this update came just in time.
She murmured to herself, her fingers tapping the table unconsciously, “System, give me detailed information about Liu Yanyan’s situation.”
“Please wait, host. Retrieving data from the database...” The system’s voice crackled slightly.
“According to monitoring, Liu Yanyan is currently suffering from severe postpartum depression. She has endured prolonged mental abuse from her in-laws, pushing her to the brink of collapse.”
“The conflicts between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law, combined with the hardships of childcare, have caused her postpartum depression. Thus, her revenge was successful, and she has earned reward points.”
A flicker of interest crossed Wen Yan’s eyes. “Postpartum depression, huh? Compared to the heroine’s suffering, this is still too little. Looks like Miss Liu isn't as strong as she appears. See? Once married with a child, anyone can become a drab housewife.”
She stood and paced over to the window, gazing out at the sky gradually brightening.
“Depression... exactly what we need. This kind of depression is perfect.” A calculating smile curled on her lips.
“A volatile new mother, a husband who won’t come home, and a shrew of a mother-in-law. What kind of chemical reaction will that create? Let’s drop a nuclear bomb and see how explosive this lady’s reaction can be.”
Wen Yan picked up her phone and quickly sent a message to Qiao Chenye:
“Puppy, it’s time for your moment to shine.”
“Send Li Jingyan on a business trip, at least three days, the longer the better. Preferably so busy he won’t have time to check his phone.”
Her phone vibrated almost immediately with Qiao Chenye’s reply in his usual lazy tone:
“In such a rush to get rid of the legitimate wife? Sister, are you missing me already?”
“Are we continuing tonight?”
Wen Yan chuckled softly and replied:
“I miss you badly. So, can you make it happen?”
“As you command.”

Qiao Chenye’s reply popped up swiftly again.
“But remember, sister, you owe me a date.”
Wen Yan was about to respond when her phone suddenly pinged.
Looking down, she saw a photo sent by Qiao Chenye—a hotel reservation confirmation for a hot spring resort on the city outskirts, perfectly timed for Li Jingyan’s business trip days.
“Early booking bonus,” Qiao Chenye’s next message came through.
“Sis, you won’t stand me up, right?”
“Qiao Chenye! Are you starved? Want to go all out so fast? Is your health really that good?”
“To serve you better, I must keep myself in top shape~”
Wen Yan’s lips curved into a gentle smile as she sent back a blowing-kiss emoji, then put her phone away.
She brewed herself a cup of warm milk and quietly waited for Qiao Chenye’s next move.
Sure enough, within thirty minutes, Li Jingyan’s phone rang—it was the company’s business trip notice.
This trip was a high-level assignment, granting access to senior executives at headquarters and adding points toward promotion.
Li Jingyan, already at a critical stage for advancement, instantly forgot his fatigue and happily said to Wen Yan, “I’m going on a business trip for a few days. Help me pack my luggage.”
Wen Yan inwardly delighted but kept a caring expression, nodding:
“Okay, I’ll start packing for you.”
While packing, Wen Yan deliberately took out her phone and snapped a photo of the suitcase full of clothes. She then posted on social media:
“My husband is always working hard for our family. Wishing him a smooth trip~ Love you, Jingyan.” She added two heart emojis.
Shortly after the post went live, Liu Yanyan received the “gift.”
Clutching her phone with fingers turning white from anger, she immediately video-called Li Jingyan.
Wen Yan watched through the door crack, a pleased expression spreading across her face.
“A business trip? A whole week?” Li Jingyan’s voice came through the door.
Liu Yanyan was furious that Wen Yan knew such important news before her.

Seeing Liu Yanyan’s expression falter, Li Jingyan hurriedly tried to soothe her: “Okay, I know you’ll be scared when I’m not there. Try to be nicer to my mom. I’ll bring you gifts when I come back. This job is very important...”
At that moment, Wen Yan pushed the door open just enough, her face wearing just the right amount of concern: “The company’s arrangements can’t be helped. Don’t worry, I’ll make sure everything is ready for Jingyan.” She leaned in close, deliberately intimate, making sure Liu Yanyan saw.
Wen Yan’s voice was sweet and charming: “Yanyan, little sister? Long time no see! How are you and the baby?”
On the other side of the video call, Liu Yanyan was clearly taken aback but forced a smile: “We’re both fine.” Her gaze shifted to Li Jingyan. “Jingyan, you’re going on a business trip?”
Wen Yan quickly took over: “Yes~ He probably won’t be able to come to you for a few days.” She intentionally pressed close to Li Jingyan, letting Liu Yanyan clearly see their intimate posture. “But don’t worry, little sister, I’ll look after Jingyan’s affairs for you. Just focus on recovering.”
Li Jingyan seemed about to say something but only nodded in the end. Wen Yan seized the moment to take his phone, flashed a meaningful smile at the camera, and then ended the call.
The moment the call disconnected, the smile vanished from Wen Yan’s face. She tossed the phone back to Li Jingyan coldly: “Your little lover is quite diligent with the check-ups.”
Li Jingyan frowned: “Wen Yan, Yanyan and I aren’t—”
“No need to explain.” Wen Yan cut him off and headed toward the door. “Your luggage is packed. Handle it yourself.”
As the study door closed, Wen Yan heard her phone vibrate. Without looking, she knew it was a message from Liu Yanyan. To her surprise, she also received an encrypted message simultaneously.
“The game is getting more interesting,” Wen Yan whispered, her eyes glinting dangerously.
Meanwhile, in a mansion on the other side of the city, Liu Yanyan furiously smashed her phone on the floor. The cracking sound of the screen echoed sharply in the empty bedroom.
“Wen Yan...” she hissed through gritted teeth, her eyes full of hatred.
With trembling hands, she pulled out another phone from deep in the drawer and quickly typed a message: “I’ve had enough! How much longer must I wait?”
On the other end, Liu Yanyan’s sister, Liu Yanyan, looked at the black screen and could no longer hold back her tears. With shaking fingers, she messaged that unknown number: “I can’t take it anymore! How long? When can I leave here?”
Soon, the reply came: “Soon. But you must ensure they divorce before the old master inherits the family estate.”
Liu Yanyan took a deep breath, wiped her tears—she had to endure this to leave and to get revenge on Wen Yan. She replied with a “Okay,” then set the phone down, forcing herself to calm.
She inhaled deeply again and typed: “Wen Yan must pay the price.”
“Don’t worry,” the reply came, “Once the old master inherits the estate, Wen’s family will be the first to be dealt with. But for now, you must ensure Li Jingyan and Wen Yan get divorced.”
Reading the word “divorce” on the screen, Liu Yanyan sneered coldly: “Divorce? That’s far too kind for her.” She murmured to herself, gripping the phone tightly, “I’ll make her life worse than death.”
