127: Heartbroken and Sorrowful
Page (1/3)
Late at night, the rain outside continued unabated.
Ye Xiyang, who had always chased after you and loved you, do you still want him?
No!
Losing the part of life that is emotion and love means there should be another part to hold you up.
Now, not only is love lost, even family ties feel fake.
These words clung to Xiao Qi like a nightmare.
Tears slipped from her closed eyes. Slowly opening them, she sat up, her tearful gaze fixed on the floor-to-ceiling window, listening to the ticking rain. Her heart felt like this rainy night—cold and clear as water.
“Xiao Qi, why are you crying again?”
Xiao Bai, who had miraculously barely slept that night, lay on the bed, tilting his head to look at her.
“My eyes just can’t help but want to shed tears,” Xiao Qi lifted her head, trying to hold back the tears. “Xiao Bai, is there any way to force the tears back? Can you find some information about that?”
“There’s no such information,” Xiao Bai said hesitantly, head still on the bed. “On our planet, there have never been cases of shedding tears. It’s like Earthlings not being able to breathe fire. It’s not a good sign. Lin Yichen is a very dangerous person for you, Xiao Qi. We should find another way to return to our planet.”
“What other way is there?” Xiao Qi choked back a sob. “And why should I be tossed around like an object? I have to find him and make things clear.”
“Xiao Qi, don’t forget, in Lin Yichen’s heart, you are Ye Xiyang, not Xiao Qi. So it’s not you being tossed around, but Ye Xiyang.”
“But this heart,” Xiao Qi placed her hand over her broken heart, “Ye Xiyang’s heart is with me, so I am extending her life. Ye Xiyang is me, and I am Ye Xiyang. Her boyfriend, her aunt—they’re all my boyfriend and my aunt, too. I don’t want to lose love and end up losing family as well.”
Xiao Bai thought Xiao Qi was a little obsessed.
“No matter what, you’re an alien, not an Earthling. You can treat Fang Yun as your real aunt, but love can’t be forced. Lin Yichen no longer likes Ye Xiyang. You can’t force it.”
“I’m not forcing it,” Xiao Qi said softly. “I just want to get an explanation from him. Once it’s clear, I won’t bother him anymore.”
Xiao Bai felt this topic had been heavy all night. If it continued, there’d be no sleep for the rest of the night.
Changing the subject, he said, “Xiao Qi, you have to dress nicely tomorrow!”
Xiao Qi had no mood to dress up. “No mood. I don’t want to eat or sleep.”
Xiao Bai jumped onto her foot, his cat face full of flattery. “If you don’t dress nicely and don’t eat or sleep, you’ll look ugly. Who would like someone ugly?”
Hearing this, Xiao Qi immediately understood, flopping back on the bed. “Right, I’ll sleep beautifully and dress beautifully tomorrow so everyone who sees me will drool.”
She closed her eyes immediately.
Xiao Bai leaned close to check her eyes and saw no tears.
Aliens are really aliens—easy to shift attention.
Now Xiao Bai could finally sleep soundly.
The rain outside didn’t stop until dawn. After the rain, the sun stubbornly peeked out, though its strength was greatly diminished. The air was filled with the fresh, cool scent unique to after rainfall.
Xiao Qi got up, opened the window wide, and took a deep breath of the fresh air, feeling her once stagnant heart come alive again.
She washed up, put on a dress, and styled her hair differently than ever before.
Her shoulder-length hair was tied into two buns—sweet and playful—making her eyes appear larger and more curved.
Spinning in front of the full-length mirror, she asked, “Xiao Bai, am I beautiful like this?”
Xiao Bai nodded vigorously. “Super beautiful.”
Then Xiao Qi went out and enjoyed a lovely breakfast, cheerfully telling Aunt Fang she was off to work.
Fang Yun was still worried but seeing Xiao Qi looking radiant from head to toe and eating breakfast with a pleasant fragrance, she realized everything was fine after that big cry.
It was like the bright sunny sky outside—after the rain, the sky cleared.

In the car, Yichen said coldly, “The morning meeting is canceled for now.”
Hearing this, Fang Li, who was driving, instinctively wanted to ask something but remembered that the current Mr. Lin was no longer the man he used to be.
He glanced in the rearview mirror; Lin looked tired, half-asleep in the back seat.
Fang Li still spoke with concern, “Mr. Lin, you look very tired. Are you feeling unwell?”
“No, just a bit tired.”
The tone was unusually gentle.
Fang Li wanted to say more but noticed people under the building, and the car gradually pulled over.
Fang Li looked at the half-asleep man. The car stopped, and he opened the rear door. “Mr. Lin, we’ve arrived.”
Yichen opened his eyes and immediately saw the person standing at the door.
Her hair was usually loose but today tied up, revealing a graceful neck with fair skin like a white swan.
Yichen withdrew his gaze and got out of the car but didn’t step forward.
Xiao Qi seemed to notice, lifting her eyes to see his upright figure leaning against the car.
Her first thought was: Look at this scumbag capitalist, always so well-dressed.
But why was he standing by the car like that? It looked like the posture of a child trying to show remorse for misbehavior—was this some kind of apology? Guilt?
Well, it was probably just her imagination.
A big CEO wouldn’t really feel remorse or guilt.
Though angry inside, she found her feet reluctant to move.
Slowly, she stepped toward him.
Her eyes caught the black suit he wore, and a small leaf had fallen on his shoulder. For some reason, her heart stirred, and the anger she had a moment ago seemed to soften. She even hoped he would take back the word “no.”
...Xiyang, I’m sorry. Yesterday I was foolish. How could I want to lose you? I like you so much...
Thinking this, her steps quickened.
Soon she stood before him.
Yichen’s gaze lingered on her head for a moment, then he elegantly brushed the leaf off his shoulder and silently walked toward TC.
He didn’t look at her at all.
Fang Li smiled brightly at her. “Miss Ye, work time is almost here.”
Meaning the CEO was in a hurry to work.
Xiao Qi hesitated. “Assistant Fang, can I go to his office later?”
He had said yesterday that without his permission, if she entered his office again, she’d have to leave TC.
Assistant Fang smiled. “You may go, Miss Ye. Please hurry in.”
Xiao Qi followed him, tossing out, “Assistant Fang, you may not know, but yesterday when I went to his office, he said if I entered without his permission, I’d have to leave TC.”
Fang Li suddenly felt weak in the knees and slowed his pace.
Sigh, it seemed even Miss Ye was no longer effective.
He tried to comfort her, “Miss Ye, Mr. Lin has forgotten you now, so he’s cold to you. But don’t lose heart. He used to like you so much. As long as you persist, I believe he’ll be moved and come after you again.”
Xiao Qi sadly said, “But now it’s hard for me even to get close to him. How can I move him?”
Fang Li thought for a moment. “Miss Ye, go in first. I have a way to get you into the CEO’s office.”

Assistant Fang was really impressive? Xiao Qi was moved to tears. “Thank you, Assistant Fang. If I can move him, I’ll treat you to a meal.”
Fang Li smiled, “If you move Mr. Lin, and you treat me, he’ll be jealous.”
Xiao Qi chuckled, “No way! When I eat with Pan Sen, he’s never jealous. Okay, I’ll go in first and wait for your good news!”
“Good!”
Xiao Qi resolutely ran toward TC.
Fang Li watched her silhouette disappear inside and sighed silently.
Mr. Lin, Mr. Lin, such a good Miss Ye. Please don’t hurt her or let her slip away!
Finally, Fang Li let Xiao Qi deliver the perfume project materials to Yichen before entering the CEO’s office.
Xiao Qi stepped into the office, placing the documents before him, eyes lowered. “Mr. Lin, these are the perfume materials. Please take a look.”
Yichen took the files, looking up at her. Her big eyes were bright and clear. Up close, he could see the pale blue veins on her slender, fair neck.
A few seconds of silence filled the office, then Yichen withdrew his gaze and spoke briefly, “You may leave.”
So soon.
Now that she had come to him, she had to find an excuse to stay longer, so she couldn’t just leave so quickly.
But for a moment, Xiao Qi didn’t know what to say.
Should she just ask directly: Lin Yichen, do you really intend to give me up?
That would make her feel so lowly.
The office was unusually quiet. Xiao Qi didn’t know how to break the awkward silence and just stood there foolishly.
Yichen noticed she hadn’t left yet and coldly raised his eyes. “Don’t you understand what I said?”
Look at how cold his gaze was now! He used to always smile gently at her, and the warmth in his eyes never faded.
Xiao Qi missed that Lin Yichen deeply and instinctively reached out to touch his face.
Yichen intended to turn away, but feeling her delicate, soft hand, he actually liked her touch.
Her fingertips brushed across his face like the softest, most delicate feather, stroke after stroke sweeping over his heart.
Yichen lifted his hand to touch the hand on his face. Suddenly, a memory flashed—Yi Yang gently touching Xiao Qi’s forehead.
His brow furrowed sharply, his expression turning cold in an instant. He roughly pulled her hand away. “Go out!”
Xiao Qi snapped back to reality. What was she just doing?
She touched her heart and silently scolded it: Are you acting up again?
Clearing her throat awkwardly, she avoided his gaze. “Um, I’ll leave after you finish looking at the materials.”
Before she finished speaking, her body suddenly rose, feet leaving the ground, as the man swept her into his arms.
Xiao Qi instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck, her cheek pressed against his handsome collarbone. Her heart raced.
He was holding her! Did this mean he liked her again?
But...
Yichen’s long legs carried them swiftly and steadily to the door. He tossed her down by the door, opened it, and said, “Out.”
